Italian Court Auctioning 'Vast' Porn Trove to Repay Creditors

TREVISO, Italy—In order to compensate victims of a large-scale fraud perpetrated by a Roman entrepreneur Luigi Compiano, who had pilfered $52 million from his company, armored transport firm North East Service, an Italian court is auctioning off Compiano's possessions, which, in addition to a fleet of cars and boats, includes a "vast" collection of porn DVDs and videos.

According to Channel 24, "The Court Auction House of Treviso, in north-east Italy, set a starting price of 720 Euros for a lot comprising 2,187 videos and DVDs, as well as erotic 'accessories', that is due to go on sale on 24 September." No indication of what sort of porn fare it is, or from what epoch.

That translates into about $925, or a little over fifty cents a video. One local paper also calculated that it would take about six years to watch one movie from the collection every day. But the stat that probably interests creditors the most is the one indicating they're likely getting back pennies on the Euro.
