Irvine Doing AlyTV

A week after its online premiere, AlyTV will feature Adult Sites Against Child Pornography executive director Joan Irvine as the main guest, when Irvine appears Thursday, April 29, at 12 noon PDT.

Irvine said AlyTV founder-host Aly Drummond has supported ASACP pretty much out of the gate. "She mentions ASACP whenever possible, and considering the number of panels, shows, and her presence on the boards, she has done an excellent job of increasing ASACP visibility," Irvine said. "But Aly didn?t stop there - she has been on the ASACP Advisory Council since its conception. I am honored that she invited me to be on her second show."

Among other topics and subtopics, Irvine could well discuss results from her current trip to the Free Speech Coalition's annual Lobbying Days in Sacramento, which was due to include Irvine meeting with a representative from California Attorney General Bill Lockyer's office.

In other news on the battle against child porn:

CHICAGO - You can forget about the old stereotypes of child predators in light of publicity around child porn busts featuring educators, police officers, guidance counselors, and coaches, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children says. "We should no longer be looking in the bushes for a scary man in a trench coat" thanks to child porn more available - and prosecutable - through cyberspace, NCMEC's Michelle Collins tells the Daily Herald.

TRALEE, Ireland - The good news, for Circuit Court Judge Brian Curtin, anyway: he was acquitted of child porn possession on his home computer when his trial collapsed following the judge's order for a not guilty verdict when determining a search of his home was done after the warrant expired. The bad news, for Curtin: Senior Irish lawmakers want him to resign anyway, even though it would cost the government 4 million Euros if he does resign, according to U.TV.

SHREVEPORT, La. - Shreveport Police Sgt. Alain Pierce has resigned after 18 years on the force, following his arrest in Bossier City on Internet child porn charges in a case that started with a juvenile's complaint, according to the Associated Press.
