Irish Firm Develops Mobile Phone Porn Filter

Technology to filter mobile phone porn "is timely in light of recent shocking incidents for us now as a country to embrace it," according to an Irish political news Website saying the technology - called Content Guardian - has been developed by an Irish company, and it's up to mobile phone operators to examine and install it.

"Further to my meeting last week with the country's mobile phone operators about the issue of mobile phone porn, the Dublin based company which has developed this technology, Telcotec, made a presentation to me ... on how its software actually works," Dail Communications Committee deputy Noel O'Flynn told Politics.ie. "I understand this company is the first in the world to have developed such image filtering software and I commend it for this significant achievement."

O'Flynn called on 02, Vodafone, Meteor, and other mobile phone companies operating in Ireland to meet with Telcotec "or any other company offering software solutions to this problem."
