Internet Virgins Get Evicted

It lasted all of one day. That's how long it took before the Internet Entertainment Group, based in Seattle, became suspicious of a couple who announced plans to lose their virginity on the Internet Aug. 4.\n Seth Warshavsky, chief executive of IEG, declined to be specific but said that, after investigating the situation and talking with the couple, he had doubts about them and whether they were going to do what they said.\n Previously, Warshavsky agreed to provide the hardware to host the site (www.ourfirsttime.com) for the pair, who have gone by the name of Diane and Mike. Now, IEG said it will back out of the event. It gave the couple 24 hours to move from its service.\n Some who have seen the couple on the Internet said they looked less like the 18-year-old virgins they claimed to be and more like well-toned and sexy actors.\n The lawyer for the couple, Mark Vega, a Los Angeles attorney specializing in First Amendment cases, has maintained all along that the couple are exactly who they said they are. He had asked for someone to host their site because of the huge number of hits it had been receiving following the announcement they would have sex on the Internet. He said the couple preferred to be on a site that did not deal with pornography.\n Meanwhile, a Miami lawyer, John Thompson, said Friday (July 17) he was considering a suit against Vega to stop the event in order to prevent children from watching."My concerns are as a lawyer, as a father and certainly as a Christian and a United States citizen," he said.
