Industry veteran Mitch Arian, who worked for General Video of America for 22 years, has renamed his new company Michigan Video Distribution.
After his long stint at GVA in Cleveland, during which he became one of the best-known and most respected people in adult video distribution, he felt it was time to move on, Arian told AVN.com.
“I left and started Satin Video Distribution in Michigan,” Arian said. After eight months, he decided to take on a silent partner, giving him the opportunity to expand and diversify his operations.
Now, as Michigan Video Distribution, the company services a statewide area, including Detroit. Arian says he believes he’s one of the state’s few major adult distributors.
“We really cater to the black market,” he said. “It’s probably about 80 percent black clientele, 20 percent in the white market. So a lot of the stuff that I’m buying is black stuff and I’m trying to get my name out there, so if people have black material they can call me.”
