Indiana Lion’s Den Closes After Five-Year Fight

UNIONTOWN, Ind.—After fighting the state and county in court for five years, a Lion’s Den retail store in Uniontown is calling it quits, at least for the time being.

The battle has been over ordinances the store owners say were enacted three days before it opened in 2005, reported Wave3.com. At issue was whether the store needed to abide by the more restrictive ordinances or would be grandfathered in. July 30, a judge ruled in favor of the Jackson County commissioners.

Despite the closure, the website reported that a sign on the front door of the store promises an appeal of the recent decision.
