VAN NUYS, Calif.—Ice-T’s Pimpin’ 101, starring Ice-T and featuring his wife, Nicole “Coco” Austin, is available now from Evolution Distribution. Ice-T hosts a hardcore feature providing first-hand knowledge and experience from his past as a real-life pimp. Filmed on the Las Vegas Strip, the raw footage is something viewers can't see anywhere else.
“Ice-T and Coco are very much in the public eye, with huge fan bases and a large measure of influence,” Evolution Distribution’s Adam Hasner said. “Pimpin’ 101 reminds us that they were not always the sanitized celebrities they are today. ... They are the real deal.”
Before Ice-T played Detective Odafin “Fin” Tutuola on NBC’s Law & Order and long before E! Entertainment’s reality program Ice Loves Coco, the renaissance musician, seasoned actor and entrepreneur was preoccupied with pimpin’ in Southern California. Ice-T, whose moniker is an amalgamation of his given name, Tracy Morrow, and an homage to author and pimp Iceberg Slim, recalls some of the finer points of pimpin’ in Ice-T’s Pimpin’ 101.
According to RottenTomatoes.com, Ice-T provides “fascinating insight into the life of a pimp” as he explains some of the intricacies of pimpin’. Viewers are given a lesson on each type of ho—the track ho, the carpet ho, the stripper ho, the call girl ho, the wife ho and the porno ho. Each exposition is accompanied by hardcore footage of each ho in action, including a final orgy scene.
Pimpin’ 101 also includes an uncredited appearance by Ice-T’s current wife/then girlfriend, Coco. Viewers are treated to an intimate shot of Ice-T and Coco at the beginning of the film, and he even serenades her with a bonus rap mash up performance at the end. Viewers should also keep an eye out for appearances and performances from Busta Rhymes, M.O.P., Amil, Brand Nubian, S.M.G. and Dirty South.
