IVD Prepares to Hit the Streets with Ice T's Pimpin' 101

– IVD owner Frank Kay told AVN.com Tuesday that the media buzz surrounding Ice T's Pimpin' 101 has reached a fever pitch.

The National Enquirer recently ran a story about the video and at least five other mainstream magazines have planned coverage of Pimpin' 101, Kay confirmed.

In the video, Ice T, the superstar rapper/actor, makes his first foray into XXX by hosting a "beginner's guide to the world's oldest profession." Fatt Entertainment and Antigua Pictures co-produced the project that is being released by IVD on both VHS and DVD on March 25.

"We've gotten unbelievable response," Kay said. "We ship to the West Coast today and the East Coast will have them by Monday or Tuesday.

"Pre-orders are awesome. We had to hold up the release so we could duplicate more pieces and make sure everyone got what they wanted. Ice T is real happy. He can't believe it."

Kay told AVN.com the DVD includes Ice T's new song "Swazy," outtakes, biographical features about the rap star, a photo gallery and footage from a private party with Ice T and Coco.

"We knew it was going to be hot, but we didn't know it'd be through the roof, and it's through the roof," Kay said.

Dirty South made an original song called "Pimpin' 101" for the soundtrack that will be available from Fatt Entertainment and Pay Up Records in about a month. Another featured track is Amil's "Kill the Bitch" which is about female haters. Busta Rhymes and Brand Nubian also perform.

Kay said he is in the midst of serious negotiations with two other high-profile entertainers for similar collaborations. He added that a sequel with Ice T has been "tentatively" discussed.

Tony Diablo, a mainstream music video director, shot Pimpin' 101 last July in Las Vegas. The cast includes August, Ryan Conner, Cherie, Obsession, Chloe Black, Celine and Sharon Wild. Mr. Marcus, Guy DeSilva, Rafe, Marty and Mark Ashley also appear.
