IBill Reminds Clients of 2257 Compliance Link

iBill

has notified its client Webmasters that their sites must include 2257 compliance information on their sites with a link to that compliance information, a company official confirmed June 24.

The notices went out to all client Webmasters in the United States and Europe, said the official who asked not to be named, though he confirmed to AVN Online that the company sent the notices to help guarantee "everybody's protection." Failure to post the 2257 link and statement on their Websites could cause the clients' to experience processing and payment disruptions, the official added, reiterating what was said in the notices.

The statement, according to the IBill notices, should read, "All models were at least 18 years old when they were photographed." The link should identify the statement as an "18 U.S.C. 2257 Statement," and should go to a page where the following paragraph is stated:

"In compliance with the Federal Labeling and Record-Keeping Law (also known as 18 U.S.C. 2257), all models located within our domain were 18 years of age or older during the time of photography. All models' proof of age is held by the custodian of records, which is listed below, organized by producer. All content and images are in full compliance with the requirements of 18 U.S.C. 2257 and associated regulations."

IBill also wants its clients to link to the custodians' records listing, including the custodian's name, address, and direct contact information, including e-mail. But the IBill official said the company will not disclose any personal information to outside parties.

"It is not new," the company official said. "We have been recommending putting this link for some time, for all the accounts we process."
