HIGHTSTOWN, NJ- Originally slated for a January release, Ice-T's Pimpin' 101 will roll out early next month after going through an extensive production process. Hardcore and softcore versions of the footage will be released in VHS, DVD, and sell-thru/smallbox formats on the streetdate, which has yet to be decided.
"It wasn't perfect yet. It went through four or five edits, and sure, some people would have put it out, but we din't release it until it was a good as we could be," said IVD spokesperson Mitch Mitchell. "Plus, from our early feedback from retailers , we decided that it would be best to hold up until we had every format available and ready to ship."
Established mainstream director of hip-hop music videos , Tony Diablo, makes his porn directorial debut with this project while Ice-T hosts the entire project and gives the viewer the rundown of a pimp's life. Ice provides first-hand knowledge and shares his experiences from his past as a real-life pimp.
The video features five vignettes tackling the differences of five professionals: the 'track girl', the 'carpet girl', the 'stripper', the 'escort' and the 'wife'. According to Ice, each one of these 'professionals' are nothing but 'ho's' and all of them are 'ho-ing'. The variance lies in the degree of 'ho-ing' involved.
Ice-T's Pimpin' 101 stars Rafe, Marty, Cherie, Celine, August, Obsession, Mr. Marcus, Guy DeSilva, Chloe Black, Sharon Wild, Ryan Connors and Mark Anderson.
The soundtrack of the project, which will be released by Fatt Entertainment and Ice-T's Pay Up Records, involves 14 original tracks and a star-studded line-up including performances by Ice-T and his group S.M.G, Busta Rhymes, M.O.P., Amil, Brand Nubian, S.M.G. and Dirty South. All formats of the project will include a bonus scene featuring a live performance by Ice-T himself.
