After over a decade of existence Hustler Erotic Video Guide will cease to be after the June issue of the magazine hits the streets.
"Executive management just decided to go ahead and close it down. It just wasn't profitable for us and we decided to trim some costs," Jimmy Flynt Jr., Hustler spokesperson, told AVN.com.
The move comes close on the heals of recent changes in Hustler, the flagship magazine of the LFP empire.
"We're just focusing on our core magazines that are bringing money in. Hustler has recently been completely revamped, and we're focusing a lot of energy and time dedicated to our flagship publication," said Flynt.
"It's premature to say how well the revamp is going, but what I hear from sales and marketing are the sales figures are up. So it is paying off, so I think it is working," said Flynt.
The move was effective immediately, and while it is not clear when or even if the entire staff will be layed off, Flynt did indicate that Hustler Erotic Video Guide editor Mike Albo has already been let go.
According to Flynt, there are still plenty of opportunities for work within the LFP organization, and some of the Hustler Erotic Video Guide staff may end up with other jobs within the company.
