Hustler to Shoot 'Saved by the Bell' Spoof

CANOGA PARK, Calif. — Hustler Video is about to travel back to the glory of ’90s teen television with This Ain’t Saved by the Bell XXX.

To be directed by Axel Braun, who also recently helmed This Ain't Happy Days XXX and This Ain't Star Trek XXX for the company, this follow-up tackles the silly and often over-the-top teen sitcom that made Screech a household name. With loud clothing, big hair and larger-than-life sets, the original show is a sea of one-liners and stereotypes, the company said.

“We were sure that some teen drama or comedy would come down the chute eventually. We couldn’t wait to get our hands on this one,” said Jeff Thill, director of operations. “It’s amazing, for such a silly show, how many fans it has.”

"Much like Happy Days, SBTB is a feel-good show centered around young, good-looking people hooking up ... which makes it a perfect candidate for a porn parody," offered Braun. "A few months back, Jimmy Fallon started joking about a SBTB reunion ... that's when I figured the timin was perfect to do a XXX version."

Braun expects the production to replicate the show superbly with the help of Hustler creative director Drew Rosenfeld, who he said "is the one responsible for the art direction, the set building, helps with the casting, and oversees the whole operation. I have a lot of respect for him."

Casting and pre-production are in the final stages. The storyline parodies a few episodes and brings back all the popular characters. Zack will be joined by Kelly, Slater, Jessie, Lisa and, of course, Samuel “Screech” Powers. (No word on whether the latter is being reprised by original actor Dustin Diamond.)

“Fans will get this,” Thill said. “Expect some great surprises! We have great resources on our staff to ensure that we capture the true essence of the show, like … for sure.”
