CANOGA PARK, Calif.—Hustler Video has recently crossed two major milestones: the release of the 100th volume in its flagship series, Barley Legal, and the achievement of its highest sales figures ever for a DVD title with the megasmash parody Who's Nailin' Paylin?.
With tens of thousands of copies sold, plus features on Entertainment Tonight and Extra!, three follow-up releases and a fourth on the way, Who's Nailin' Paylin? has captured the hearts and loins of red-blooded Americans across the land.
"Obama's Nailin' Palin and Letterman's Nailin' Palin were huge sellers, but Who's Nailin' Paylin? and You're Nailin' Palin sales are incredible," said Hustler national sales manager David Diamond. "The public has gone Palin crazy, and we are more than happy to oblige!"
Added Hustler creative director Drew Rosenfeld, "With Lisa Ann's sexy portrayal combined with hot girls and electric sex scenes, you can't go wrong!"
Something else with which you can't go wrong is a simple premise that's remained on top for 10 years and 100 installments. That's exactly what Barely Legal, started in 1999 by Clive McLean, has done. Often imitated but never duplicated, Barely Legal has spawned dozens of offshoots and become the most widely-known adult title there is. The series is now helmed by Matti Klatt, who has long been successful in capturing the essense of the young-girl market.
"We wanted to amp up the sex factor with Barely Legal," said Rosenfeld. "Matti's work and his photo sets not only make the talent look flawless but add sensuality to the series, which appeals to a wider audience."
Barely Legal 100 hit streets Tuesday and features young beauties Prinzzess, Katie Michaels, Jasmine Delatori, Heather Starlet, Bella Moretti and Kandi Milan. Hollywood's Nailin' Palin is due out in January 2010.
