Hot Video and porn producer Marc Dorcel have a deal to distribute Dorcel's films on European newsstands.
"He's the number one (porn production) company in France," says Hot Video publisher David Chryso of Dorcel. "He's the only one that goes international. He goes [into] many countries. And his work is always the high quality. So this will work."
The deal includes selling Dorcel films by publishing Ma K7 hot Dorceli (My Hot Dorcel Video), introducing what Chryso calls "the best" Dorcel productions, and other news about Dorcel.
For Dorcel, the deal means his work will be reaching a large Hot Video market. For Chryso, it means bringing to newsstand sales something more than what he calls cheap, slapped-together porn productions.
"We were looking and saying we didn't want to do that, it was not our business," Chryso says, explaining his hesitation at attempting anything like the Dorcel deal. "Then we realized they were kind of competitors, so we decided to go newsstand with quality products. We started three years ago, and we put [out] only what we would call good films, feature films, top films... and so the things were going very well for us. And we saw the other magazines selling less and less and less. And now we decided to have this agreement with Marc Dorcel, because the problem is, the others were doing it with cheap movies, compilations, amateurs, and so on. Marc Dorcel does the highest quality work."
He says this deal "foreshadows what the business might be in the future, with the new technologies and the growth of the adult industry in France and in Europe."
The first issue of Ma K7 hot Dorcel in print will appear May 20.
