After what was hands-down the biggest AVN Awards Show in history, hostess Jessica Drake glowed backstage while rock group Buckcherry dropped the final note to a raucous crowd of over 7,000.
"It was amazing," said Drake, still abuzz from emceeing the multi-media spectacular. "It went so fast. I'm stunned… speechless. It was such a good night."
The 2007 AVN Awards Show marked a giant step for the adult entertainment industry's biggest annual event, moving from its previous home at The Venetian Grand Ballroom to The Mandalay Bay Events Center, a venue with twice the capacity.
"And Jim Norton was great tonight," Drake added. The 2007 show was the second time that porn-loving comedian Norton co-hosted the night, and he drew plenty of laughs in his role as self-deprecating sidekick to the elegant and glamorous Drake, who was given plenty of punchlines to throw his way.
"I'm thinking of getting into porn," Norton said on stage in between presenters, "but I just don't know who to talk to."
"A plastic surgeon," Drake replied.
When Norton mentioned that the girls in porn always seem to make so much more noise than the girls he gets in bed, Drake responded with, "Try waking them up."
But the funniest moment of the night was Norton's response to a heckler from the upper deck of the auditorium who threw an insult down to UFC bad boy Tito Ortiz — who was sitting in the front row with girlfriend Jenna Jameson.
Norton questioned the heckler's manhood for throwing insults to the UFC fighter from so far away. "If Tito was fucking your girlfriend," Norton added, "you'd push his cheeks for him." It was an impromptu moment that garnered laughs and cheers from the entire audience.
"The guy genuinely annoyed me," Norton mentioned after the show.
