Scott Hoover has announced his resignation as director of publicity for Jill Kelly Productions.
A former mainstream publicist and talent manager before joining JKP, Hoover handled a variety of duties for the company including several bookings for their contract girls on personal appearances, in-store signings, the Howard Stern Show and various television and radio shows across the country.
His other credits include hosting the 2004 Porn Star Ball and a national media tour with Jill Kelly during the HIV scare that shutdown industry production for weeks. Hoover also negotiated a major t-shirt licensing deal with Mad Engine for JKP.
"As a publicist, I went above and beyond the call of duty," Hoover said, "but I loved every minute of it. I miss the ‘old days’ of the company when we were on Sunset Blvd. I miss the girls – they were my friends.
"However, I'm ready for a change. I plan to utilize all my connections - mainstream and adult - to launch my own management/public relations company - providing a full service agency for my adult clients. It's all about promoting the talent and building solid careers for these performers. It's what I do best so it's a natural progression for me to now venture full-time into this area of the business."
Although Hoover indicated he would welcome the opportunity to work for another company on a freelance basis, he said he missed being his own boss. He will focus on established talent as well as new performers for building his client roster that already includes photographer Daniel Black.
"I love creating positive press for my clients and helping to launch new careers,” he said. “I love working with creative people and want to see them shine. I don't want to be known as just another industry person trying to make a fast buck. I really do have a genuine concern for their well being."
