HomegrownVideo Site Has Sexual Information Officer

Homegrown Video's Website

now features a Sexual Information Officer - Seska, who, in August 2002, was the first amateur adult performer ever to grace an AVN Online magazine cover.

Seska will publish weekly articles covering various sexual topics, including the stigma of sex, sexual labels and their meanings, alternative relationships, making porn, the complexity of male ejaculation, and others, Homegrown said announcing her title. She also will answer Homegrown site member questions and runs an open forum for discussion on the Website's message boards.

"I am honored that Homegrown Video has entrusted me as their SIO," said Seska in a formal statement. "My goal is to engage people in an honest dialogue about sexuality. I want to demystify myths and challenge stereotypes. I hope my contributions will help people explore and enjoy sex in a positive and healthy way."

Seska's resume includes a bachelor's degree in child studies and psychology, but she gave up academia in favor of sexual liberation, including her own Website, which she launched in 1999.

"I was on the Homegrown cam system and became good friends with Homegrown," Seska told AVNOnline.com. "And they were looking to expand some of the attraction of the Website. So they invited me to write some articles and participate."

What she wants most to accomplish as Homegrown's SIO, she said, is make "a strong contribution to the sexual well-being of the members.

"I want to make sure everyone has a very well-informed, positive experience about sex," Seska continued. "And I think sometimes porn doesn't do that. It goes too much for the ?quick kill' sort of thing, when there's the potential for so much more. Because the thing about sexuality is that it' so immense a part of who we are as human beings. And talking about it helps, not just seeing images."

She said the early response to her new Homegrown presence has been very positive, on the message boards and in her e-mail, with people "asking questions, asking for advice, just giving feedback about what I've been writing."

Seska's interest in alternative sexuality began in the winter of 1995, she says on her own Website, when she began going to fetish nights with one of her girlfriends at a local club, and had her first one-night stand "with a cute guy I met there," with her boyfriend's knowledge, saying also that the experiences have brought them closer together.

"That night, things just clicked for me," she writes. "I realized that sex and love were two very different things and that I could experience them not only together, but separately as well.... Through the 'scene,' we have made some wonderful friends and have grown closer as a couple. It has also allowed me to evolve as a person and instilled in me the value of freedom of expression, freedom of choice, trust and honesty."
