Holly Randall Hits the Penthouse

The October issue of Penthouse, on sale now, features two adult entertainment debuts. But while most readers will understandably focus on the photo spread of fresh-faced model Prinzzess, attentive fans and industry observers will note that the issue marks the first cover and centerfold contributions by talented young photographer Holly Randall.

“I shot her for two days,” Randall told AVN.com. “I thought she was really cute and young. I took everything I shot and took it to Penthouse. I didn’t get a heads-up right away because Bob tends to take his time. But they took it and published it. I’m really excited.”

The 2003 UCLA graduate, who recently turned 26, celebrates her contribution to the issue as a professional milestone and is looking forward to more of the same. “I just spoke to [Penthouse] today and I’m sending them two more sets. I don’t want to say who [the models] are because one of them might be Pet of the Year. That would be awesome, if I got to shoot Pet of the Year. I’m editing the two girls today.”

Randall, in case you’re wondering, happens to be the daughter of erotic-photography royalty Suze Randall. Mother and daughter make no secret of their relationship; they have worked closely on recent video projects, and Suze Randall’s name trips easily off Holly’s tongue when she is asked about professional role models.

In fact, the Prinzzess photo shoot took place on her mother’s farm. Noting the cover, Randall said, “What’s kind of funny is that it’s a picture of her feeding a horse. That horse belongs to Stormy Daniels. Stormy was keeping her horse at our house. I asked, ‘Hey, I’m shooting this girl. Can we use your horse?’ She was like, ‘Sure.’ So that’s Stormy’s horse.”

Another noteworthy element is that Prinzzess grew up in an Amish community. “She came from a very different background than I’m used to,” Randall said. “Obviously, I’m the last person in the world who knows what growing up Amish would be like.” However, that didn’t stop her from forging the kind of relationship with the model that she feels is important for a successful shoot.

“I know what it’s like to be a girl, and to be scrutinized, and feel maybe a little bit insecure. It’s pretty nerve-wracking for the first time, taking all your clothes off in front of the camera.” Randall added with a chuckle, “She said she wants to work with me again, so I couldn’t have been that bad.”

With one professional touchstone out of the way, Randall confessed that a future goal for her is another art form altogether: writing. “The two things I’ve always loved, ever since I was a little girl, are photography and literature.” For the latter, Randall goes outside the family for a role model, naming Ernest Hemingway. “He was a great, womanizing alcoholic — totally my type of man,” she laughed. “My kind of guy.”
