Hirsch Offers to Squelch Usher Sex Tape

LOS ANGELES—In what might seem to be an unusual move for an adult studio mogul, Steven Hirsch has reached out to Usher, offering to help keep a sex tape allegedly starring the singer/dancer/actor from seeing the light of day in the industry.

In a letter dated March 15, Hirsch introduces himself to the Georgia-based celebrity as the head of Vivid Entertainment, the “leader when it comes to the marketing and distribution of celebrity sex tapes,” but notes that he and his company have helped stop the distribution of many such tapes, too.

Usher, aka Usher Raymond IV, reportedly made the tape with his now ex-wife, Tameka Foster, a few years ago. Recent news report about the tape making the rounds to celebrity gossip sites and adult studios prompted some people in Usher’s camp to speculate that if such a tape did exist, that it was probably among several items—including jewelry and two laptop computers, all valued at more than $1 million—that were stolen from the back of the artist’s car in December 2009.

Hirsch’s complete letter to Usher is as follows:

Dear Usher,

I head up Vivid Entertainment, the leader when it comes to the marketing and distribution of celebrity sex tapes. Our movies have featured such stars as Kim Kardashian, Kendra Wilkinson, Montana Fishburne. Tila Tequila and others.

We’ve learned that a sex video of you and your ex-wife is making its way around the adult industry. As a result of this being an intimate and very personal tape we can certainly understand why you would want to stop its distribution.

What you may not know about Vivid is that there are many celebrity sex tapes that we have actually stopped from being distributed.  We may therefore be able assist you in stopping your own video from any type of circulation.

I hope you will contact me at the number below.

Sincerely,

Steven Hirsch
