LOS ANGELES—Studio Happy Chicken Pink has announced a partnership with Intec, Inc. to exclusively distribute the bulk of Intec’s 10,000-plus title library of gravure/”pink” content beyond Japan for the first time.
“I couldn’t be more pleased to be teaming up with such a legendary company, bringing their unique brand of eroticism to America and Europe,” said Studio Happy Chicken Pink founder and director Charlie Maib.
Michi Iisuka, CEO of Intec, echoed Maib’s enthusiasm: “Studio Happy Chicken Pink truly understands both the American and Japanese markets. It’s such a great opportunity for both Intec and Happy Chicken that gravure can expand beyond Japanese borders to reach new markets and fans.”
To accommodate Intec’s unique variety of titles, Happy Chicken Group, the parent company of Studio Happy Chicken Pink, has announced two new imprints: Studio Happy Chicken Blue, featuring boundary-pushing “chaku ero” style gravure, and Studio Happy Chicken Purple, which features the hottest boys the Land of the Rising Sun has to offer.
The first two Happy Chicken Purple titles, Samurai Boys: Stand By Me! and Samurai Boys 2: Sweet Boy of Mine, released in December.
Studio Happy Chicken’s Blue’s premier titles, Chaku Ero: Declaration of Youth and Chaku Ero 2: Limit of Kuikomi, hit market in late-January.
The complete Studio Happy Chicken catalog is available exclusively through MVD Entertainment Group.
Established in April 2009, Studio Happy Chicken Pink’s concept was to launch unique videos of fresh-faced gravure idols (a common Japanese term to describe enticing young magazine/video models that tease the viewer in swimsuits, lingerie or various states of undress), and present them in a more imaginative, visually stimulating way than was represented in Japan’s increasing studio competition.
According to the company, Studio Happy Chicken Pink is the first Japanese studio of its kind to secure a distribution deal outside of Japan, covering the U.S., Canada and Europe through an agreement with MVD Entertainment.
