CHATSWORTH, Calif.—For the first time in its history, trans studio Grooby has moved to a multiple-title monthly release slate.
"For the past 15 years, Grooby has released one title a month," explained Grooby sales manager David Peskin, who just returned from a 30-day hiatus. "They ramped it up to two releases in May, one of which was Real Fucking Girls directed by Mona Wales, [whose] highly successful premiere in theater in North Hollywood [had] over 250 people in attendance. And the numbers, the reorders, are just phenomenal. Truly a groundbreaking release.
"The second release in May was Ladyboy Cumshots!" Peskin continued, "and this is 63 scenes from the Grooby network just of transsexual cumshots never before seen on DVD. Selling extremely well."
This month, Peskin said, the schedule has increased once more to three releases, namely UK TGirls & Friends, Miran: Newhalf Superstar and TGirls Porn 2.
The first of these, which hit the street Monday, represents the DVD debut of content from recently launched Grooby network site UK-TGirls.com. Directed by Kalin, it stars Jazmin, Alicia Snow, Lexus Bradbury, Red Vex, Alexandra Vexx and Mindy—the latter two in a trans lesbian scene, Peskin said, "that I believe could get a nomination for Best Transsexual Scene."
Peskin further touted, "These are hot and horny all-European T-girls."
The second June release, shipping this week and streeting June 27, continues Grooby's fledling Superstar series, which started in December 2015 with Aubrey Kate: TS Superstar. That inaugural volume, according to Peskin, "has been one of our best-selling titles to date. It's been reordering like a machine since its release. Then we released Honey Foxx: TS Superstar in February, and now this is the third release in the series.
"For those that have never heard of Miran," he explained, "she's the star of one of our best-selling Shemale Japan titles, which is Shemale Japan 4, where she exploded into stardom. In Japan, apparently, transsexuals are referred to as 'newhalfs.' They are underground and Grooby happens to be the only company with access to shoot newhalfs in Japan. Miran actually came out for the TEA Show in Hollywood, she flew in from Japan for the second consecutive year, to the delight of all of her fans."
And as Miran: Newhalf Superstar hits retailers June 27, Grooby will begin shipping TGirls Porn 2, which CEO Steven Grooby describes as a "T-girl feast for the senses." Following the all transsexual-on-transsexual formula of the first volume, which Peskin reported has done "phenomenal numbers," TGirls Porn 2 offers a quintuplet of pairings: Chanel Santini and Coco Dahlia; Vixxen Goddess and Baby Bratt; Eva Cassini and Crystal Sopen; Chelsea Marie and Morena Black; and Jamie French and Kira Krash.
French, Peskin noted, directed Trans6uals for Grooby and is currently working on her follow-up release.
TGirls Porn 2 is set to street July 5.
