SAN FRANCISCO—The releasing arm of adult retailer Good Vibrations has signed on as the exclusive distributor of Matinee, a sexually explicit drama directed by Jennifer Lyon Bell.
Named to its list of Top Five Porn Films for Women by Cosmopolitan Germany, Good Releasing will handle the film’s U.S. distribution.
Bell, a Harvard grad living in Amsterdam, “is a progressive female director with a unique vision of eroticism that bridges the gap between art film and sex film, producing erotic film for people who like film” according to Good Releasing.

As described by the company, “Matinee tells the story of Daniel and Mariah, two actors whose performance as lovers has failed to convince the critics, and earned them bad reviews. When various attempts at making their connection authentic fail, Mariah decides to take the ultimate creative risk and hopes that Daniel will follow. In this afternoon performance, they put their careers on the line in an erotic theatrical experiment that leaves no doubt as to their chemistry.”
Director Bell will be presenting Matinee along with several other European shorts at the Good Vibes 5th Annual Indie Erotic Film Festival on Sept. 21, at the Red Vic Theatre in San Francisco.
