Goldstein Blogging for Booble

Some might call it shacking up with the enemy, others might say he couldn't beat them, so he joined them. But former Screw publisher Al Goldstein, who got sunk in the original Internet boom, is joining the Net—or, more specifically, Booble.com, for whose weblog he's begun writing an exclusive column, "Al Goldstein's G Spot."

“When [Booble.com founder] Bob Smart asked me about writing for Booble, I thought it was going to be like writing my weekly Screw magazine editorials,” Goldstein said in an statement. “I had no idea I was going to have to learn how to use a computer and surf the Internet—and then learn all about blogging!"

The adult search engine and porn data directory is featuring Goldstein's opinions on the state of adult entertainment and its future. For his part, Goldstein called coming online at last "an incredible learning experience. Thank God they got me a tutor! I had no idea every porn movie ever made was just a mouse click away. No wonder the Web put Screw out of business. Now I feel guilty for killing all those trees!”

Once one of the wealthiest adult publishers, Goldstein was bankrupted when Screw couldn't or wouldn't keep pace with the online world, losing his entire fortune and his sumptuous Florida mansion and at one point living on the streets.

Booble.com mastermind Bob (Booble Bob) Smart called Goldstein the perfect fit for his operation.

“Al Goldstein is a legend to whom we all owe a debt of gratitude," he said announcing the Goldstein column. "Were it not for his fearless defense of our First Amendment rights, the adult industry would not be able to operate openly as it does today.

onal story is as inspiring as it is all-American," Smart continued. "He made – and lost – a fortune and has been forced to reinvent himself in the digital age, a job he has taken on with energy, enthusiasm, optimism, and humor. It's a unique privilege to be able to bring his insightful and entertaining views on porn – and life – to the World Wide Web.”

Joining Booble.com is the latest move in Goldstein's comeback in adult entertainment. Most recently, he joined XonDemand as national marketing director.
