Ten women and 10 men from all walks of life will get their shot at porn stardom when Ginger Bred Productions starts shooting its first series, Ginger Picks, next week.
The contestants chosen for participation in the week-long shoot that will generate six videos come from a wide variety of professions – there is a nurse, a housewife, a stripper, a college student and, appropriately enough, a pizza delivery boy. They all have one thing in common – they want to be porn stars.
The contestants for the reality-porn series were chosen over the course of the past five months by fan voting at the series official Website Gingerpicks.com. The production was pushed back a few months after problems with contestants not taking the stringent health requirements seriously.
“When you are flying 20 people in from around the country its hard to make sure they’ve taken care of their tests. I’m finding that people are coming in not as prepared or as clean and healthy as I require people to be on my shoots,” Lynn told AVN.com. “Then of course some of them got nervous and thought is this for real…and it is. So we needed to replace those contestants as well.”
Contestants will compete in three contests, each for $2,500 in cash prizes, in addition to shooting sex scenes throughout the week. Two of the contests are to measure the contestants’ oral sex skills. During the “Eat Me” contest, the male contestants will each spend three minutes performing cunnilingus on each of the female contestants, all of whom will be blindfolded. The women will rate each guy. Conversely, the “Blow Me” contest will have each female contestant blowing each of the men, who will be wearing blindfolds as well, for three minutes.
“Every once in a while I’ll step in and it’ll be me giving the guys a blowjob. Hopefully I’ll do okay,” Lynn quips. “We’ve told all the guys that if you’re going to cum, you need to yell it loud and clear so we can get that on camera,”
“If one of the guys can’t hold back during a blowjob, the next guy in line will get two girls at once,” giggled Lynn.
The third contest will be the “Solo Fuck,” each girl doing a solo masturbation scene. All 10 contestants will be performing their solo scene simultaneously in the same room. The climax of that segment will include “a bucket of toys and a gallon of lube,” and Lynn herself wearing a strap-on.
The contestants will also perform in more traditional porn scenes – many of them based on the contestants’ fantasy requests submitted when applying for consideration in the contest. For instance the pizza delivery boy wants to be in a scene that involves him as a schoolboy having sex with a teacher.
“That sounds like one I might do. I can play a teacher,” Lynn said.
And teach she will. Lynn will give the contestants tips before sending them into a closed room to shoot their sex scene with the master camera on a wide shot. Lynn and her production crew will watch from the monitors and as things get heated between the two contestants, additional cameramen will filter into the room for close-ups.
"If I really like what I'm watching and it looks like fun, then I will join in with them," explains Lynn. "If it's horrible or either one is not doing their part, I will go in and show them how it is done properly or I will replace them – the guy or the girl. If the guy can't perform, I may end up going in and doing his job."
Male porn stars Kurt Lockwood, Steve Hatcher and Chris Cannon will also serve as standbys for each scene, because, as Lynn notes, "You can't have a scene without an ending!"
There is also a bonus segment of the contest that calls for the contestant who has turned Lynn on the most by the end of the week getting a one-on-one scene with the AVN Hall of Famer, though Lynn notes if she has a tough time deciding who she likes the most, the bonus scene could end up being a gangbang.
Then on August 1st, www.gingerpicks.com will steadily begin featuring three to five-minute clips of each performer for fans to vote on to determine who will become the first contract girl for Ginger Bred Productions. The winner will be announced just prior to the 2004 AVN Expo and Awards Show.
The first installment of the Ginger Picks six-part series is tentatively scheduled for an early October release, with a subsequent volume to follow each month.
“I’ve fucked fans before – but never on video. And I certainly never paid a fan for it before,” said Lynn, who plans on three more productions this year.
