Georgina Spelvin Publishes Autobiography

LOS ANGELES - The legendary star of Gerard Damiano's 1973 porn classic The Devil in Miss Jones has published a memoir entitled "The Devil Made Me Do It."

Georgina Spelvin became an unlikely sex symbol at 36 when Damiano tapped her to play the lead in his follow-up to Deep Throat. She went on to appear in dozens of hardcore films during the Golden Age of porn, including Robert McCallum's 3 A.M., Radley Metzger's The Private Afternoons of Pamela Mann and Henri Pachard's Babylon Pink.

Spelvin also acted in a handful of films outside the XXX world, including one for drive-in exploitation director Al Adamson (Girls for Rent, a.k.a. I Spit On Your Corpse) and two of the Police Academy movies. In 2005, she made a cameo appearance in her friend Paul Thomas' remake of Devil for Vivid Entertainment.

The book begins with Spelvin's entry into sex movies in New York circa 1972 and goes on to tell of her rise to XXX stardom and life after porn. The opening pages describing her experience on the set of High Priestess of Sexual Witchcraft are worth the cover price alone.

"I write here of real people doing surreal things in bizarre situations, but if you're looking for the ordeals of a victim, this ain't your book," Spelvin writes. "And it most definitely is not a reference work. I've written what I can remember of these folks and events as they altered the course of my life. If you want facts, go to Google."

"The Devil Made Me Do It" is available now through Spelvin's Web site at www.georginasworld.com.
