Gay adult affiliate program GayPayCheck, home of recognizable niche sites AsianGuys, GayAsianShop, and WeHoVideo, today announced the launch of a new animation-themed site, SpunkToons.com.
Featuring exclusive hand-painted art, 3D artwork, series galleries, and licensed DVD content created by several established artists and illustrators, SpunkToons offers content inspired by Japanese anime, superhero cartoons, and Saturday morning entertainment, but skewed toward a decidedly older market.
Unlike other sites that claim to feature animated adult content, SpunkToons is a strictly “toon-centric” site.
“We shopped around and noticed that the majority of gay toon sites simply have ‘filler’ content, and then subsidize the remainder of their members’ area with regular gay porn feeds,” says Tom Barrington, president of GayPayCheck and its parent company IPO Entertainment. “Our site is all toons.”
Barrington says the site has been in development for some time, and that the idea for SpunkToons came from a GayPayCheck employee who had a fascination with animated adult content. “In response to his urging, we hired a dedicated toon artist to create exclusive toon art, and we have been accumulating it for the past five years with this site launch in mind.
“Gay anime and toon art is very difficult and very expensive to require,” Barrington adds. “The reason most anime and toon sites don’t update often—or, in some cases, at all—is that the art is very costly and time consuming to produce. Currently, we have art being produced by three exclusive artists, and we have four more that we are going to bring online as the site matures so that we can always provide the largest and most diversified assortment of gay anime and 3D toon art to maximize customer retention and value.”
Although some may wonder how well animated content will do with surfers who prefer live action, Barrington says SpunkToons offers the “ultimate” experience for the discerning gay porn fan.
