GAY PORN DOCUPLAY OPENS IN L.A.

J.T. Sloan \nLOS ANGELES - Based on his film of the same name, Ronnie Larsen's Shooting Porn premiered in Los Angeles Nov. 12 and runs through Dec. 19th at the Zephyr Theatre, starring Chad Donovan (Ryker's Revenge)and J.T. Sloan (Bullseye).

"It's only fitting for the play to have its world premiere in Los Angeles, the home of the gay porn industry and the place where the film was shot," says Caryn Horwitz, who is handling publicity for the stage production.

Focusing on the gay erotic film business, Shooting Porn visits gay porn sets run by two of the industry's heaviest directing talents, Gino Colbert and Chi Chi LaRue, with Larsen himself portraying the latter while Colbert appears as himself.

The documentary illustrates what Horwitz calls "the problems inherent in filming sex, actors who don't like each other, directors with limited time, and performers who are not aroused. Within this framework," she says, "the various players…discuss their careers, their families, their sexual orientations, the hazards of the industry, and the meaning that gay porn can have on different lives."

Gabriel Macen and Peter Nevargic also appear in the stage production.

Shooting Porn the film has been a hit at gay film festivals around the world and has also had major city releases in New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. Larsen first got the idea for the film when, during production of his play Making Porn, he met major gay porn stars and directors who invited him to sets continuously.
