Jade Rose is not your typical Fresh Face. First of all she’s a BBW. Second, she’s a nerd with a wild sexual side. When not on a porn set you can find Jade buried in a book. But when on set, such as on a shoot playing a naughty nurse in the Hustler feature BBW Nurses, Jade is racking up points as one of the fastest-rising performers in the BBW world. And Jade is shooting for the stars, wanting to go far in this industry. “I really give it my all and with my work ethic I can do well. I really do want to stand out because I feel a lot of things that I’ve done and like to do are not typical and there’s a market for it too.”
With BBW porn becoming more acceptable—or as Jade puts it, “trendy”—the former adult video store clerk says she wasn’t aware when she started performing in November 2013 how popular the genre was but would have still pursued a career in adult anyway. A good choice since Jade has now shot for virtually all the major BBW studios and has her eye on working for Evil Angel, home of the legendary performer/director Belladonna. Jade shares the hope that Belladonna will come out of retirement to direct her. “And I really like April Flores’ style ... she tends to do more of the kinkier things that I like too.”
What are some of the studios you’ve shot for? How many scenes have you shot?
Plumper Pass, Hustler, Rodney Moore, Plumper Nation and a few independent companies. Scenes, maybe like eight or nine.
Before porn you worked in an adult store. Did you meet all sorts of perverted people going in and out of the shop?
I definitely met some interesting ones. The area in which I worked in was kind of a nicer area so the clientele was a lot of businessmen getting off work, so it wasn’t super creepy. But there were definitely some interesting people.
Were there any performers you were a fan of before entering the business?
None in particular. I really didn’t know anyone’s name but I recognized their faces. I do remember Kacey Parker, though. I watched a DVD she was in and I thought, “Wow, she’s really hot.” And now I’ve met her and we’ve hung out, so it was kind of funny. [Laughs.] I guess I kind of had a girl crush on her a little bit.
To what do you credit your early success in the business?
Just my persistence. Whenever I’m determined to do something I just find as many resources as I can and basically just set a game plan of how am I going to get this done and what do I need to do to get there, and just being really persistent.
You mentioned game plan. Did you have an outline of how you saw your career going?
That really didn’t happen until about April of [2014]. I was just like, “I don’t know what I’m going to do.” I visited Vegas and L.A. in April, and when I got back I was like, “I’m going to need to move there. That’s where I’m going to be working a lot. I can network with other models that are going to be nearby.” So that’s when I really got serious.
Outside of porn what are some of your interests, hobbies, likes and dislikes?
I really like dancing. That’s kind of like a therapy thing for me. I love going out to dance. Playing pool, I like reading, going to the library, playing chess. I’m kind of a dork.
What would be your dream scene?
Honestly, I’m into degradation a lot. That’s like a thing of mine. I feel like if it’s in the scene when you’re working with somebody, it’s fine, as long as they respect you. I love to be degraded. I love that. There’s just a bunch of ideas that I have.
When guys say they fantasize about you, how does that make you feel?
I enjoy it. I get off on that, honestly. I love it. [Laughs.] I mean we all love attention; that’s why we’re in this business. We all love attention to some degree. So it’s nice. I love that, and it turns me on. As long as the guy approaches you respectfully and does not treat you like an object completely, there’s nothing wrong with that. I just feel like there’s a time and place.
Is it easy for you to watch yourself in a sex scene?
I used to hate it but now I really don’t mind. I watch it all the time like when I masturbate so I don’t care. [Laughs.]
What kind of girls and guys are you attracted to?
As far as men I like professionalism, intelligence—and hard workers really turn me on. And I’m into well-endowed men, honestly. [Laughs.] Women, I love all women, honestly. I’m a perv. I love to perv on women. I’m always after their butts whenever I work with girls.

Probably a million dollars. Good sex is pretty easy to come by.
What advice would you give a civilian guy if he wanted to date a porn girl?
I would say be ready to accept your girlfriend’s occupation. Don’t just think you’re OK with it. Understand it is her work and she’s going to be romantic with other guys, and that’s part of the job. Make sure you’re mentally prepared for that. That is the main thing.
What’s one thing about yourself that you haven’t shared with many others in the industry?
I’ve done over four years of college and pursued two different degrees. I started when I was 17, stopped when I was 20, and I started again when I was 21. Then I kind of jumped into porn. Some people find that interesting. I’m very sexually open but I’m also a huge nerd, I love to read and be a dork. People pretty much realize that about me after 10 minutes.
