Fresh Face: Interview With AVN Trophy Girl Bonnie Rotten

This article originally ran in the January 2013 issue of AVN magazine. Bonnie Rotten will be seen on stage at the 30th annual AVN Awards Show, taking place January 19 at The Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.`

You'd never know it, but Bonnie Rotten turned 19 last May. With her mature appearance augmented by a conspicuous collection of tattoos, the newbie performer does not give the impression of someone looking forward to her 20th birthday. We chatted with her soon after she was named Trophy Girl for the 2013 AVN Awards.

Hometown: Cincinnati, Ohio | Measurements: 5-foot-7, 105 lbs., 34DD-22-32 | Hair: Brown | Eyes: Hazel

How did you start with this?

I got introduced to the fetish world when I came to L.A. for the first time when I was shooting for an adult-friendly magazine called Girls and Corpses. I started doing fetish modeling after that, and then more hardcore bondage. Now I'm here. Step by step. It was dancing, and then webcamming, and then shooting fetish, and then bondage, and then hardcore porn.

How is making videos different from what you thought?

It's way more mechanical. Way more structured. You have to add your own little flair to everything that you do. Bring your own style into the way you fuck.

What did you do before this?

I was an exotic dancer—a stripper—and I used to model at car shows and motorcycle shows.

Do you like working in the adult industry?

I love it. I have a lot of fun. I love the chance to meet all the different people and express myself in so many different ways. I love also being able to provide something for fans to see and enjoy, and have as much pleasure in it as I do.

What’s the biggest misconception outsiders have of the adult industry?

That brings me to the issue of what we're facing here in L.A. now [with the passage of Measure B]. People have a misconception about the industry being dirty, or not being safe. I'm safer having sex with people in the industry than I am outside the industry.

How many scenes have you done now?

I've done seven or eight bondage scenes, and less than 15 scenes. Less than eight boy/girl, some girl/girl. You're catching me right at the beginning.

Of those 15, what's the best scene you've done so far?

My favorite has definitely been my d.p. scene for Meet Bonnie. It was a lot of fun. It was with Mick Blue and Ramon Nomar. I've only done that, like, one other time in my life, and [lowers voice confidentially] they’re both really big. And they're extremely rough, so just having them throw me around and that much penetration and wildness was amazing.

Who do you want to work with that you haven't worked with yet?

For guys, I really want to work with Manuel Ferrara. Really bad, because he's super-rough and big. [Chuckle] For girls, I want to work with Asa Akira, because I have a super-crush on her. And she actually tweeted at me and said, "I think Bonnie Rotten should be one of the trophy girls for AVN."

We've done our bit. You will be there. You will probably meet her. Let me know how that works out.

I will.

Which is your coolest tattoo?

My stomach. It's a zombie from a comic book called Night of the Living Dead: The Beginning, Issue 1. I named him Henry. It was my first tattoo ever. It took 13 hours. Have you seen it? [Pulls up shirt]

Holy crap! You got that done in 13 hours?

Yeah. This took eight, and this took four or five. Here's the original on my cell phone.

What are your biggest turn-ons?

Anal sex. Anal sex and spit.

Describe your dream sexual scenario.

I want a gangbang really bad. I want to be able to handle two in my ass at once. Someday, eventually, down the line. Not as soon as possible for my career, but in my personal life, for sure.

What three personal items would you take if you were stranded on a desert island?

That's funny. I was walking down my hallway with my big bag because I'm going to Vegas for two days and I thought, "What would I take with me if I had to choose five things?" My power toothbrush, my iPad and iPad charger, and a boat, so when I'm hungry I can at least get food.

What’s the most valuable life lesson you’ve learned?

"Quality, not quantity." As far as the industry, shooting and working with companies, not putting yourself out there too much. Choosing who to work with instead of just working for the money. In life, do unto others what you want to be done unto you. It's all about energy. Positive and negative.

How would you spend your last day on earth?

I would get a lot of weed, I would go to Montana, and climb a mountain.

How would your best friends describe you?

They would describe me as caring, responsible, and reliable.

How do you spend your free time?

I spend a lot of my time planning projects. I write scripts and I dance—now I'm recuperating [from a recent boob job] so I really can't do pole dancing any more. I'm about to do feature dancing, though. I'm really excited to start that. After the first of the year.

If you weren't doing this, what would you like to be doing?

I was wanting to go to WyoTech, a motorcycle vocational school where you do custom metal fabrication and building chassis and stuff like that. I was going to be an entry-level Ducati tech. You'd learn tack welding and stuff like that along the way.

Do you have a long-range plan?

Kind of. Long-range plan for the industry: I'm just working, having fun, building my name, working for good companies. I'm opening a production company where I want to do vintage noir porn that glorifies tattooed women. I have a cam site that's opening soon on BeRotten.com. Trying to get that moving and see how that goes.

Quick Hits

Food you would be able to eat every day: [Long pause] A Habit burger. I do eat it almost every day.

Best concert you’ve been to: I went to this concert called the Creepshow in Indianapolis. There were 12 people there, it was kind of a secret concert. They're a psychobilly band from Canada, and they're super-awesome. It was like a personal show. It was amazing.

Pet peeves: I don't like liars. I don't like when you're sitting on a plane and someone's eating something really smelly next to you. It's like, "This is my space. Mind my smelly space." It drives me crazy. And dirt under my fingernails. That's a big one.

One thing you would like to change about yourself: My hair. I have really curly, curly hair. I wish it were straighter.

What gets you in the mood: Being able to take a deep breath and collecting yourself and thinking about—I've been so lesbian lately, and I think about pussy a lot. When I'm trying to get in the mood, I think about pussy. And then I'm in the mood. It's really hard for me to fake cumming in my scenes, and I have to put myself in that mindset to make myself cum. That's how I do it.
