“I'm working my way through school” is a cliché in the Porno-American community, but Anikka Albrite is doing it one better: she started in adult to get some money together to work on her master’s degree. How did you start with this?
It's something I considered for a while. I've always really, really loved sex. I've had an insatiable appetite, very kinky, and willing to do pretty much anything in the bedroom. So naturally I gravitated to it. My mom says I was always a flirt. I hesitated because I didn't want it to come back and bite me in the butt, but I was recently laid off from my job and I had to pay rent and save up for my master’s degree, so I figured, “Why not give it a try? Why am I worrying about the future when I could just live in the present and enjoy myself?”
How is making videos different from what you expected?
Not as much sex. Going into the industry I thought it'd just be go in, you have sex, and you get out. But there's a lot going into it: the setup of the cameras, the photos ... Everybody's very professional. It's a very relaxed, easygoing atmosphere.
What did you do before this?
I've been a server, I've worked in health clinics, I've done promotional modeling. A lot of different stuff.
Do you like working in the adult industry?
I love it. It's definitely something that's up my alley, and I can be myself in this industry. Around people beforehand, I had to hold back. I'm one of those people who will say what's on my mind, and in the adult industry it's more acceptable to do that than say something blatantly honest or sexual and offend somebody. I feel like I fit in.
What’s the biggest misconception outsiders have of the adult industry?
A lot of industry girls are very down-to-earth and really nice. People think that porn girls are here because they love sex and they aren't really destined for anything else. A lot of girls are doing this as a stepping-stone to something else, like me for instance. I definitely plan on being around for a while, but I know what my game plan is when I get out, too.
How many scenes have you done now?
Let me think about this—I think close to 70. In eight months. I keep busy.
What's the best scene you've done so far?
[No hesitation] Sport Fucking 9. It's my favorite. With Erik Everhard. It was my first scene with Erik and I found out I could have multiple orgasms the whole time during sex without stopping. Multiple orgasms the whole scene. It was incredible.

I'm a SCUBA diver, so I would love to do a scene underwater. I'd like to learn how to free-dive, and do a scene like that. A mermaid scene, a pirate scene, something watery in the ocean. It's something I love doing and I can do two passions combined. It's a really cool idea. I want to direct someday—maybe I'll do it myself.
How do you spend your free time?
With family. I'm kind of a homebody. I don't go out a lot and try to be really professional about my work, and I work so often I only get one day off or maybe two days off in a row. If I party, it's like once a week. I sit at home, reading, cuddling with my cat, lying out by my pool. I spend time with my family and by myself. Get some “me time” in.
If you weren't doing this, what would you like to be doing?
I'd like to be finishing my master’s. I love school, and education, to me, is very important. It's something that I do miss and I hope to be going back to school part time soon. I have a BA already, a double major in biology and business.
Do you have a long-range plan?
I'm already learning stuff about production now. It's nice to learn and pick up on things, and I'm a quick learner. Another passion of mine is learning as much as possible. [Directing is] something I won't be doing any time soon, but I'm already preparing myself and learning the tricks. As often as I can whenever I'm on set and they're setting up I'll ask questions. People have told me “You ought to be a director” because I'm very on top of things, organized, and I catch the little things. Definitely not this year, because there's so much I want to do as a performer before I can direct.
Is there anything else we should know about you?
I love traveling. I'd like to travel to 30 countries by the time I'm 30. I've been to 17 already. I'm very passionate about traveling, meeting new people, different cultures. I would love to see the Greek islands. I'd go for the natural beauty and the architecture, but the naked people on the beach are a bonus.

Best concert you’ve been to: I went to see Muse in concert at the Staples Center. They were amazing. When I was a little girl I went to see Pink Floyd on their last tour. I don't remember much, but I do remember the big blow-up pig. I don't have many memories of that concert but it's cool to say I was there.
Pet peeves: Number one would be people who don't use turn signals when they change lanes. That gets me so riled up. Also people who don't recycle.
One thing you would like to change about yourself: I tend to take on a lot. I'm a workaholic and I love working, and sometimes I'll overwork myself and need to take a break for, like, five days. I should pace myself better. I really love working and doing what I do, and my body can't keep up with me all the time. Pacing myself more. I've always been an overtasker.
What gets you in the mood: In a sexual mood? Bluntly, a really nice naked woman. That's an instant thing. If I see an attractive woman who's naked, it's the most erotic thing to me. It just turns me on. Although I would do her if she's let me. And food. From just the look of it, New Zealand green mussels. It's so erotic shaped, it looks like a woman's vagina.
