FreedomStreams '08 Raises Nearly $15,000 for FSC

CANOGA PARK, Calif. - HotMovies.com and parent company National A-1 Internet helped raise nearly $15,000 to benefit the Free Speech Coalition through FreedomStreams '08, a one-day online fundraiser held April 15.

The event brought together 60 donors representing 212 brands and studios. Each company donated its HotMovies.com profits for the day to FSC, with National A-1 matching all donations dollar for dollar.

"We are truly indebted to HotMovies.com for its third consecutive year of fundraising leadership," said Scott L. Lowther, FSC Director of Membership Services.  "The support of FSC members in helping us to keep up the good fight is essential to our ability to sustain overhead related to our own cost of doing business on behalf of the industry as a whole and, more specifically, our members. When groups of donors and studios band together, each giving a little to create a lot, it's a win/win for all of us."

To date, FreedomStreams has raised a reported $50,000 for FSC.

"HotMovies is proud to support FSC at this crucial time," said James Cybert, Director of Business Development.  "The Free Speech Coalition always has our back, and it is nothing short of an honor for us to reciprocate.  We'd like to thank all of our participating studios and we encourage all content producers to continue to support FSC in all of their important work."

A list of participating studios will be posted online at freespeechcoalition.com. To get involved with FSC, call (818) 348-9373.
