Today Freedom Distributing began releasing the first DVDs of the Moonlight Entertainment catalog of 90s’ titles that include some of adult’s biggest names at the beginning of their careers. The first nine DVDs include titles from the Cat Lickers and the Sex Trek series.
“VHS is dying on the vine and DVD is the perfect format for adult products,” David Wiseman, national sales manager for Freedom Distributing, explained to AVN.com. “You can go to straight to the scene that you want – which is exactly want consumers want.”
The first nine include Cat Lickers 1-4 and Sex Trek 1-5. Serenity, Kylie Ireland, Bionca and Felicia are just a few of the top-tier names captured in their youth on these releases.
None of the nearly 200 titles in the collection has ever been released in DVD format. Freedom anticipates converting nine titles a month to DVD – with
Freedom Distribution president Paul Interlandi doing the authoring, encoding and even the wrapping of the DVD jewel cases himself.
“I assure you we have them quality checked inside and out,” Wiseman said. “Paul is actually doing an excellent job on all of it.”
Freedom Distributing hopes to have approximately 90 percent of the Moonlight collection available by the AVN Awards show in January, something that makes Wiseman very, very, happy.
“I can’t tell you how many customers I’ve turned away who wanted DVDs,” he said.
