Free Online Site Tracking from Integrity Online

Internet filtermaker Integrity Online is making available a free accountability service, X3Watch, licensed by California-based XXXChurch.com, and designed to help parents and other computer owners track Web surfing to suspected "inappropriate" Websites and report that activity to a designated e-mail address, the company announced August 18.

"We see this accountability service as being very complementary to our existing web filtering services," said Integrity Online president Skip Mathews, announcing the new service. "By offering the service for free, we hope to draw more attention to our efforts of helping people everywhere gain control over unwanted Internet content coming into their homes and businesses."

Mathews said the chief aim is to help parents get a better handle on knowing what's being seen online and preventing their children from seeing what they deem inappropriate. He pointed to a London School of Economics study showing 57 percent of children surveyed admitted to seeing Internet porn and only 16 percent of their parents knew it happened.

A customer using X3Watch can designate whatever e-mail address he or she likes to receive the reporting on any visits to any porn or other designated "inappropriate" sites, and even choose how often such reports are submitted.

XXXChurch.com isn't exactly pro-adult Internet, but they also go out of their way not to condemn or point fingers at the industry, they say on their own Website. "[W]e are not pro-porn," said a statement on their site. "We have Bible studies and sermons that you can listen to, and a prayer wall where you can post prayers. However, we refuse to have this be your typical Christian crap Website with crosses and Bibles all over the place and communicating things that most in the world can't relate to. Just the truth communicated in a no-nonsense way."

"We are excited to see Integrity Online integrate X3Watch into their suite of products," said XXXChurch.com founder Craig Gross. "It shows their serious commitment to solving a really pervasive problem. The fact that our two organizations are working together to offer this service for free is huge."
