Former porn performer and the once Mr. Alicia Rio, Steve Houston is now working for Solid Video

Former porn performer and the once Mr. Alicia Rio, Steve Houston is now working for Solid Video, a video distributor, in the sales department.

Houston: "We're next door to Wildlife. We're in distribution and production. We're kind of at both ends of the stick. This is definitely a different part of the business for me now that things are somewhat back in order. The train is moving forward instead of going backward. There was a lot of crazy stuff going on in the past, but it's behind both of us [Houston and Rio, that is].

"Alicia's out in Alaska dancing and doing very well for herself."

G. Ross: "I could pick a lot of locations, Alaska might not be one of them."

Houston: "I think because she's not ready to feature yet, she's dancing as a house girl. She went there with Kitty Yung. From what I hear the girls make pretty good money there.

"We're both making our presence known, little by little, again in the industry. I'm making a comeback in the professional setting versus the talent-type setting."

Houston concedes the wild rumors being told about Rio.

"Her and Bionca Trump got into a big thing. Alicia did an event in Texas with Sunset Thomas and I guess they had some type of falling out. I had heard that Alicia od'ed on heroin. I picked up the phone, called out there and talked to her directly. Unless you hear from the horse's mouth, you don't know what you're really getting. I remember hearing one time I got busted for transporting drugs in my truck. I couldn't believe that.

"I wouldn't say we're together again in a relationship, but we're together as friends helping each other out. After being with someone for 19 years, you just don't part ways. 19 years this August. That's a long time. People say how old are you. I'm 34 now. She's 33. We came into the business in 1991.

"Do you remember the book called Lust Angeles? There's something in there about adult industry people. There's a two-pager on both of us. It talks about our life story.

"Alicia was one of the very few people coming into the business, especially being Hispanic, and having the income bracket that she was able to achieve, and the huge fan following that she has in a short time frame. I don't blame the industry for anything that has happened to us. You have two spectrums of what can happen to you. Either you fall into the pit of the party world, or you fall into the category of being successful, you invest your money and you move on. Somehow, sometimes, that happens where you fall into that pit. It's easy to do if you allow yourself to do it.

"I'm certainly back in the industry because of the positiveness I've seen in the business."

Houston says he'd been working, in the mean time, at odd-end jobs - construction and a tooling company where he had been a shearer; he also worked in the aerospace industry for a time. "But I found out that it wasn't for me," he said. "I wasn't happy being in a machine shop." Houston was also a reserve cop at one time. "And Alicia was also the deputy city treasurer for the city of San Gabriel."

Houston: "Society tends to look at the tragedies of the industry and say that's what the industry is. Why not have some success stories. There is success in the industry, not, look where they are today, living in the street.

We'll do fine this time. We got all the cobwebs out. We had a lot of growing up to do."

John Santiago writes: "In your opinion is the extreme porno star vacation all it is cracked up to be? Is there really interaction with the stars? Is it 10 to 1 girls to guys? Is it worth the money? I was curious if you had heard anything or if you could ask other readers through your site that went what they thought. Howard Stern could be just blowing it way up and it could be one of those quasi-roped off stars on one side behind the velvet rope deals.

Gene sez: "There's an old saying, 'you pays your money, you takes your chances.' There are no guarantees. Other than that, one thing I do know, there are no velvet ropes, and I don't think Stern would be "blowing it way up". This is his second year promoting the event, and if it was a klinker the first time around, that would have been the end of it. Then, on the other hand, there's one person who's not too impressed with Stern as Gloria Leonard's following e-mail might indicate."

Gloria Leonard writes: "Howard Stern is a fucking hypocrite! For all the hours of his radio and tv shows that he fills (pretty much for free), neither he nor his manager, Don Buchwald, responded to the Free Speech Coalition's request for some item to be included in the Silent Auction. All we asked for was an autographed book and they didn't even have the courtesy to respond to our letter, giving a yea or a nay! It was sent months in advance with several follow-up calls and letters. Considering his battles with the FCC and his obvious fondness for porn stars, you'd think he'd be a tiny bit supportive of anyone espousing the philosophy of free speech! He lost points with me.

On the subject of Rob Knob's party, don't flatter yourself kiddo! Reading about it on Gene's site was the first we heard about it and guess what? Yours was only one of countless orgies, brawls and bashes held throughout the hotel, some even attended by FSC Board members!

ZANE JOINS THE DVD MARKET

Zane's first DVD will hit the streets in August, two months earlier than originally planned. It's entitled, "Cherry Poppers: The College Years, Director's Choice", and it offers all of the up-to-date features that have made DVD's such a hot item. For this rendition, Matt Zane has selected his all time favorite Cherry Popper scenes. The DVD can be played as a regular movie or the viewer can choose the chapter jump feature, which includes Matt's introduction and explanation, as well as scene highlights and a sub-scene directory that includes the blow job, anal and cum shot footage from each girl.

In addition to the multi chapters, this DVD has a photo gallery and biographies of all the girls, as well as The History of Cherry Poppers, internet access, and digital sound. This DVD is compatible worldwide. Zane is planning to release 5 more titles on DVD this September.

From what you gather in conversation, Kid Vegas and Napoleon have become the new Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid. Kid Vegas is also trying to get Napoleon to cut his hair short, bleach it, adopt the Kid Vegas lifestyle and become "Mini Vegas". Vegas also swears he's going to be doing a 'snuff' movie. One can only hope he's talking somewhat tongue-in-cheek. "The devil's going to talk me into it," Vegas says. "The devil's going to be played by Bruno. We're going to title it 'Kid Vegas: The Snuff Movie.' "

G. Ross: "Who's going to get snuffed?"

Vegas: "Girls..we don't feel like paying them, so we're going to snuff them. We're going to try and save some money on our budget...more money for our pockets, we'll spend money on alcohol and drugs instead."

G. Ross: "Obviously, you're going to have a cable version for this one."

Vegas: "We're going to try to do two versions...if we get time."

G. Ross: "You should because it has a certain element that I'm sure Playboy's going to jump into."

Vegas: "I'm sure they'll be interested.... Napoleon's my new sidekick, now. Johnny Toxic's out. He don't call me back. He's got everybody mad at him. He brings down my name. Napoleon's going to be doing all my movies, hopefully we'll get him to cut his hair and bleach it like me. It'll help him promote his name a little bit bigger...I'm trying to talk him into doing the snuff movie as Mini Vegas. Maybe'll he change his name to that when he sees the outcome of the movie and all the publicity he gets."

G. Ross: "Are you going to put him in a [army] tank...what are you going to do?"

Vegas: "I don't think we're going to get the tank for this movie. We might take some scenes from stuff we shot looking at tanks...when we were putting out bids, looking for tanks. I think the tank will be in the next one. I took Napoleon out the other night. Saturday night we went out, and he tried acid for the first time. He got a new outlook on the world. I think he's coming to realize that Kid Vegas is a good thing for him, and that drugs and alcohol are a way of life.

"I was supposed to go to San Diego but I wound up cancelling because I didn't see any money or anything that would interest me in going down there. I kind of stayed local, traveled around with my posse. My friend got a big, black Suburban. We packed it and cruised around. I went into the Dragonfly on acid. The Stone Temple Pilots were playing. Napoleon told me I looked like the Cookie Monster and Ronald McDonald when we went out in the truck. I think he was hallucinating a little bit.

"We're going to start shooting either this weekend or Monday or Tuesday. I want to make sure all my ideas get into this movie, so we're going to make it a two-week shoot."

G. Ross: "Do you think you might have a little bit of a problem calling it Kid Vegas: The Snuff Movie?"

Vegas: "We're going to get a little hassle, but after everybody sees it, they'll agree it was a good title....the graves are being dug."

G. Ross: "But you don't know who's getting snuffed yet?"

Vegas: " A lot of girls that I want to use are going to be out of town. [Wonder why] We're going to use five girls in this movie. We're going to snuff all of them in different styles."

G. Ross: "They realize, of course, their careers are going to be kind of limited after that."

Vegas: "I think their careers might boost up after they get snuffed. I don't know how much work they'll great...I'd like to put Napoleon and Scotty Schwartz together in a wrestling video...winner takes all. I think Napoleon would win. He's pretty buffed."

G. Ross: "It's a tough call....so what's with this whole feud between you and Scotty Schwartz?"

Vegas: "Scotty Schwartz is jealous because of the press I get. He thinks I'm arrogant. He called me that when I saw him. I guess he figures because I haven't been in the business long enough, I'm not good enough to talk to him. Or use any of his hos that he pimps out through Jim South or through him. He puts them up in his apartment. The only one of his girls I wanted to use was Anastasia. But I saw a picture of her and DK the other day, and I don't want to use her now. It was kind of gross. DK's a pimp, too. I don't using girls who are pimped out through pimps."

G. Ross: "Still in love with Kendra?"

Vegas: "Still in love."

G. Ross: "No more Allison Kilgore?"

Vegas: "Allison Kilgore's pretty much history. She's out of the business completely. I had my production manager call her the other day, and that Brian guy answered her phone. He said she wasn't talking to anybody in the industry anymore. She wiped her hands clean. But I still want to go to the baby shower and see baby Vegas when he comes out. She could have a real cute son if it comes out as baby Vegas. If it's Brian, it might come out looking like Napoleon..actually, Napoleon's not that ugly. He's got his look, he's just got a problem with girls, and I'm trying to fix that for him so all the girls want him. I heard a couple of comments from girls at the AVN Expo telling Napoleon to bleach his hair like me...be like Kid Vegas. Maybe we can get a bunch of signatures on a petition voting for Napoleon to cut his hair...I think it's a great match, though. I get along good with him. And he loves the Kid Vegas clothes, too. I'm sure a lot of people will want to see that."

G. Ross: "Where do you get most of your clothes?"

Vegas: "In Venice. I got a designer guy that sells me 'em real cheap. I've been working on him sponsoring me, giving me free clothes, but I haven't convinced him yet."

Vegas claims that Peach, a girl who appears in the upcoming Kid Vegas Superstar has a habit of leaving shoots with the excuse that her mother was in a car accident. "I said, hey, let me come down to your house, check out your mom. She wouldn't let me. Later I found out from Jim Powers and Johnny Toxic that she gave them the same story when she flaked their shoots. She does a little crying role....check it out."

Rodney Moore writes: "Screw Magazine in New York City gave my movie "I SWALLOW 2" a 100% on the peter meter. The guy who wrote the review said it was only the third time since he left his tour of duty in Vietnam and starting writing reviews for Al Goldstein and Screw Magazine that he has given a movie a full 100%. AVN gave this same movie 3 stars out of 5. At least someone in this industry writing reviews has good taste.

Nelson, from Legend Video writes: "Regarding Farrell Timlake's Sex for Life Too, I have just read Mr. Timlake's manifesto on his film Sex for Life Too and feel obligated to remind Mr. Timlake of the old adage--the empty can rattles the most. If your film, Mr. Timlake, is as innovating and hip as you say it is, then it does not need a lengthy, self congratulatory and pretentious introduction, or explanation. You can get your point across with a few well chosen words. For example: I have seen Sex for Life Too and would have simply said, "Sex for Life Too sucks." Or, perhaps, "Sex for Life Too sucks donkey dicks." See? How easy was that? I don't mean to be harsh, but a lesson in subtlety is in order. Nelson, promotions director Legend Video.

Luke Ford writes: "Gene, I read your site twice a day... I noticed this morning [July 19] the letter from Mike Albo. And there just seems to be so much hostility there and I want to help him. Try calling Adult Industry Medicine, Mike, and ask for Sharon Mitchell. Say Luke Ford sent you. 818-981-5681. Or Chabad Lubavitch (Hasidic Jewish sect) also has some excellent drug rehab programs. Check them out. Or perhaps Mike, you should just come to synagogue with me. I think if you only knew that Rabbi Akiva died for your sins, and wanted a personal love relationship with you, it would take away all your anger.

Though it was supposed to have been an informal gathering, Rob Knob, owner of Knob/Ryder Entertainment says he had about 500 people show up at his hotel suite after The Night of the Stars.

Knob: "It was like over 500 people and $3500 in alcohol. Swank was there, Screw, Cheri, High Society - girls getting crazy and naked and having their pictures taken - we're going to be in like seven or eight different magazines over it. Half the contract girls in town were there, even the competing producers showed up to drink free alcohol. People were still partying one o'clock the following afternoon. We were checking out of the room, and there were still people sleeping on the floor and drinking. It was supposed to have been an intimate gathering, about 40 or 50 people, it turned into the big A-list party. It was crazy. We had the owner's suite. It was a two-floor suite and you couldn't walk around. There was 50 people in each bedroom. Downstairs we had two living areas, a dining area and it was completely packed. There was no place to sit. Both bedrooms were full of photographers, and little shows were going on.

"Free Speech Coalition wasn't too happy about it from what I gather. I guess they had a party they were organizing for months. And we just earlier in the day started telling people to come by for a drink. It got entirely out of hand.

"We just wrapped up Carnal Secrets, with Jill Kelly. The special effects on it have been bumped up to over 30 now. We did green screen, fog machines and lightning strikes and everything you can possibly imagine. There's going to be like time warping from one scene to another.

"Basically the plot is Jill Kelly is the very mystic star of it. There's three additional stars, three minions, each one takes on her own fantasy. One goes into her fantasy which is medieval. She wants to be a slave and sold at auction. We actually did a period piece in costume where Temptress is purchased by Eric Everhard. In another one, Vivian Valentine wants to be a stripper and be done by two guys. She ends up at a strip bar and gets d.p.'d on stage. In another one, Julie Meadows is getting married and we actually had a wedding ceremony set up where Chris Canon comes in and punches out the priest and groom and gags her off on his motorcycle. They take off to a little hotel suite. That little anal scene took four hours to do yesterday. It was some of the best footage I've ever seen. Julie Meadows is a serious professional.

"Also with Carnal Secrets it's supposed to be Jill Kelly's last non-condom scene, ever. Or so she tells us. Carnal Secrets is so complicated, it's probably going to take us about six or seven weeks to edit. We're working two bays on it full time.

"A real good friend of mine is just getting in the business. Alan Dark has a real big shoot with Jill Kelly, Saturday. He's using all my crew so it should be a very professional shoot. The name of his company is Da Big House Productions. I've sort of tutored him in the business so to speak. He's following the pattern I set up of using all A-list girls and trying to do real nice productions."

Sheldon Goldberg a noted and respected wrestling historian, writes about XPW on 1Wrestling.com:

"It's not surprising," Goldberg says, "with the wrestling business as hot as it's been, that new companies are springing up, trying to get a piece of the estimated half-billion dollars a year that pro wrestling is currently generating.

"No third-party effort is going to realistically put a dent in WWF or WCW.... Still, with this much money on the table, it stands to reason that others will try to make a successful go at it.

"XPW - Xtreme Pro Wrestling - debuts at the Reseda Country Club in Reseda, CA with a card on July 31st. Xtreme has an interesting story behind it. The powers that be in pro wrestling ought to pay attention, because this group has elements within it that could make it a serious niche player.

"XPW is being backed by a company called Extreme Associates, which is a leading producer of adult (yes, XXX rated) films. Extreme Associates' owner, Rob Black has had a well-known affinity for ECW and has talked about ECW on their videos. They've had actors wear ECW shirts in movie scenes and recently released a tape [Whack Attack 5] that features non-sex appearances by [ECW wrestlers] Bubba Ray Dudley, Big Dick Dudley and Tommy Dreamer. Extreme's Jasmine St. Claire, a well-known adult film actress has appeared at ECW events.

According to Goldberg, Black had discussed bringing ECW to California, where Extreme Associates is based. "Black would have assumed some sort of local promoter role," Goldberg writes, "but ECW was reluctant to commit, since their TV in the market was felt to be inadequate. ECW tried to get Black into the fold, using some of Extreme's girls in valet-type roles and creating a cross-promotional relationship between the companies."

Apparently, Black felt, in Goldberg's estimation, that ECW was presenting a relationship that was too one-sided for his taste and began to seek out advice elsewhere.

"He [Black] ended up hiring Kevin Kleinrock, who had been involved in promoting the struggling local Southern California Championship Wrestling. Black felt with all he could bring to he table, he could build his own group to run the long neglected Southern California market.

"Black's view is that the prime young male audience for pro wrestling is the same demographic which are prime consumers of his adult film product. With Black's 'adult stars' lending celebrity luster to the wrestling product, perhaps a base of fans can be built that will benefit both the wrestling product and add marketing dimension to his current adult film business.

"Black and company have another more important asset to bring to the table - video," Goldberg notes. "Extreme Associates owns cameras, lighting, editing suites, etc. This alone puts them well ahead of any start-up independent group. If you can produce the product for video, it is a small leap to local television. XPW could grow very quickly under the right circumstances.

"It remains to be seen if XPW can present credible pro wrestling. But then again, how much credible pro wrestling do we see in any U.S. group today?"

Kleinrock: "The Goldberg article came as a surprise to me...our commercial ran for the first time Sunday night, now it's a matter of the card being finalized. Like we said, we're not announcing any of the matches before the first show. That's part of the whole X-factor of the XPW, the whole surprise. We're guaranteeing a night of hardcore wrestling and the Miss Extreme Contest. We promise if people show up we'll make them fans." Tickets can be purchased through the XPW hotline, 818-779-6475.

Gloria Leonard writes: "Wow, is my ass sore! But not because of some sexually wild behavior, unless of course, you consider several hours on the back of a Harley Davidson the equivalent of a monster vibrator (which it sort of is).

Gorgeous ride on Saturday, through Topanga, Mulholland, and Malibu. Rest stop for a whiz and a beer and who comes tooling in but Jay Leno, in a 1924 Bentley. Very generous spirit - opened the hood, let everyone have a peek, talked car lingo, etc. I took a few photos and we were back on the road. Same night, I attended the 91st birthday party for Milton Berle at the Friars' Club and surprisingly, he was still able to wow the audience with some funny shit! I felt like a young chippy compared to most of the audience, whose median age had to be around 75. Had a great chat with Eric Roberts as we smoked at the bar and met up with old beau, Larry King, who gave me a smooch on the lips. When I initially approached him at his table and said 'remember me?,' he responded, 'Hell, we almost got married!' I was quick to remind him that he probably says that to every woman. Later, when he stopped by our table and realized I was with Al Goldstein, he said, 'I guess Gloria still has a thing for us Brooklyn Jewboys.'

Leonard adds: "It was like celebrity day and night. Jay Leno was so sweet. He opened up the flaps and showed everybody the engine. He knows everything about his cars. Then, at night in Beverly Hills - Tony Martin, Syd Charise, Jan Murray, John Byner, Monty Hall, Steve Allen, that crowd. It was fun. It was a priceless shows. Berle was sharp as a tack, I was blown away. I thought when he was sitting there listening to all the tributes, how much of this is he absorbing? He got up and and did ten minutes, we were roaring.

"Eric Roberts was a doll, he was really sweet. He introduced himself, 'I'm Eric.' I said I know who you are. I've seen you in every thing since your first movie which was Raggedy Man and King of the Gypsies."

In some bizarre way Galactica Galaxina has been singularly responsible for getting Kevin Korey's name out in the public. Korey, who heads Quest Multimedia, is the boyfriend of Nakita Ka$h. Korey was the first to break the news about Galaxina's "death," though he as well as many others became the victim of a gigantic misunderstanding that's bordered on the ridiculous. As a result, Korey's been the target of e-mail barbs from Galactica suggesting that he's some kind of website profiteer.

[This is the death notice e-mail that started the whole ball of confusion bouncing: "This is Billy a friend of roxy gg,we regreat there was tradgy that took place with roxy, many of you know she was under going surgery after surgery, the DR.s neglect in skill left her with on going infections taking qplace, roxy left a letter to the ones she became friends with and you all made her day a little brighter and happyer for her,we need to take care of things befor sending out what letters she composed to send letter, I think she new the last days that happyness she would never find,we saw her profile on Galaxygg and in a way she was saying it there goodbye to everyone, roxy died peacefully in her sleep an overdose, she was not doing good last days,I personally want to thank kito, and tom when she saw your mail and got to talk to you one more time you gave her peace she was devastated the past months not talking to you no more it hurt her so thank you for some how knowing she needed to here you one last time, and kevin she left mail for you and dav., ect, and kito,we might do a little web of her vido she had made a month back, her comicbooks we will see about still getting thoses out for her, again we thank you all for being kind to her and good friends."]

Korey: "Nakita and I met at an event in the midwest at a Miss Nude Galaxy event. The Ponderosa Sun Club hired me a couple of years-in-a-row to choreograph their opening. I was a choreographer/dancer in the mainstream for years. Most of the stuff I did out here was choreograph stuff at Glam Slam for the artist formerly known as Prince.

"When Nakita and I met, she wanted me to go on the road as her choreographer/roadie. We got down to Dallas for competitions there and we met Michael Raven and Sydney Steele before they were in the business. We stayed at their house when they were still living in Dallas. I knew a little about video production and so forth and Nakita was a feature at the time; they were trying to get her to do movies.

"From there I went on the road with Nakita and choreographed some shows for her. Then, when we got to Ft. Lauderdale, we had an entire trailer with about $250,000 worth of our stuff stolen. I had a light show that pretty much put most of the clubs we went into, to shame. It was huge. Someone made off with the whole trailer. At that point, we had no choice but to shut things down for a few months to gather our resources again. In the meantime, we hired someone to do Nakita's website. They ran off with the name. I knew nothing about any of this stuff, so between being irritated and the ambitious kind of person I am, I figured out how to get the name back. It took me about four months to find a little flaw in their registration. I got the name back and said I would never give it up. I said we're going to learn to do this ourselves.

"So I've been doing her site , nakitaka$h.com for about a year. Then I started production. I was a pm for Michael Raven in the very beginning, then an assistant director. I was hearing all these girls complaining about people taking their names and getting screwed over by this web company and that web company. Being a soft-hearted guy, I jumped into this with both feet and do what I can to help. That's kind of where we're at right now. The company was fully up and running as of October of last year. At this point we have 16 large accounts - and those are maintenance, design and hosting all inclusive. I probably got 30 more hosting clients over that. I've got one full-time employee. We're not a big company. We have no claims on being that. The reason being I always want to maintain that personal relationship with my clients. That's what's been able to keep me where I'm at.

"The people who have read that story about Galactica realize how off the wall she is, and that I'm a good guy. Press is press, you take it for what it's worth. This whole thing was based on protecting girls. It was kind of funny to hear that I was using Galactica as a means to get other girls' websites. We had gone through pain and heartache, and we lost a lot of money. You have to protect the girls who have a name and have the potential for a decent-sized business. For years the girls haven't made the money they could, and here's an opportunity for that. I think they deserve that. Nakita works side-by-side with me in the office. She does a lot of scanning for me. She's got a very good eye for graphics. Before anything's published, we put her on a little lap top on a dial-up connection and have her breeze through the site. She's been a great hand with the whole company.

Korey's philosophy of helping the girls out certainly came into play when Rayne was backed into a corner on her "Curveball 99" promotion, as this correspondence attests to.

Rayne: "Gene, The letter you are about to read is exact conversation..... cut and paste....

The first is an IM conversation between Rayne (Curveball 99 organizer) and Trey Kaiser FORMER www.curveball99.com Web Host. Trey was hosting www.curveball99.com when Kevin Korey offered to host the site Free of charge.

Before I made any switches I wanted to inquire since (FREE isn't always better) I was grateful to Kevin for offering, but before making any quick decisions I wanted to take time to think and ask questions to ensure I was making the right choice...

Due to a disagreement or conflict between Kevin and Trey, He (Trey) said that I don't owe him anything and redirected my www.curveball99.com traffic and pointed it at www.fatchicks.com. I have thousands of dollars in advertising and all of the advertising has www.curveball99.com

Both Kevin Korey, Jim and were working to correct the problem Trey created. InterNIC was aware of the problem and they were downloading the site and redirecting it ..... I apologize to everyone for this inconvenience, InterNIC said it should only take a day or two
