LOS ANGELES—Forbidden Fruits Films has disclosed further details about its previously-announced project written and directed by AVN Award-nominated helmsman Harry Sparks. Entitled Call Me Mother, the movie is being touted by the company as its most ambitious production to date.
Described as an "erotic thriller," Call Me Mother stars up-and-comer Callie Calypso as Jennifer, an 18-year-old high school senior who becomes entangled in a passionate affair with her new stepmother Grace, played by Forbidden Fruits co-owner Jodi West. The movie also stars Tony DeSergio, Payton Simmons and T. Stone.
"Harry Sparks has created another masterpiece," proclaimed Howard Levine of Forbidden Fruits distributor Exile Distribution. "In the tradition of Vampire Mistress and Revenge of the Petites ... the Martin Scorsese of porn has produced the most twisted sexual romp of 2014. This should be a sure winner come award season. Forbidden Fruits has pulled out all the stops and went deep in the pocket for Call Me Mother. No expense was spared."
Commented Forbidden Fruits production director and co-owner Jay West, "It was a great pleasure to put together this project with Harry. The script, cast and his attention to detail during the shooting of this film all worked perfectly together. This was a stretch from our normal tight budgeted productions, but we know our fans are going to love it. This should also appeal to anyone looking for the higher end, drama based features out today."
He added, "By mixing the directing skills of Harry Sparks, and the twisted story telling of Forbidden Fruits, we ended up with a film that should be a major contender come awards season."
Offered Sparks himself, "Working on Call Me Mother has been an amazing experience. That's due in no small part to Jay and Jodi West, because for me they were the ideal producers. They were always there when I needed them but they also let me be as creative as I needed to be. Rather than dictate the kind of movie to make, they were interested in the movie that I wanted to make, which was a sexy, suspenseful erotic thriller. There aren't a lot of these types of features being made right now in adult or mainstream, so it will be very interesting to see how our audience reacts to the project.
"I was also blessed with a great cast to work with," Sparks continued. "The performances in Call Me Mother ... are absolutely terrific. I can't wait to finally show it to the world. Everyone involved in this groundbreaking project really shared the same vision, and the quality of the film absolutely reflects that."
Call Me Mother will be released in mid-August on DVD through Exile Distribution, followed by a VOD rollout in September.
