Flynt's Hustler Casino Bothers Ministers

A group of ministers wants the Hustler Casino in San Joaquin Valley to change its name, claiming the name is associated with pornography and the worst elements of society.

The Gardena Ministerial Association opposes all forms of gambling, but they say the Hustler Casino is especially worrisome to them.

"A name like Hustler is going to draw a lot of questionable people with questionable conduct," said Rev. George Villa, the group's leader. They are urging the City Council to block licensing of the casino, which needs both state and local approval.

Hustler magazine publisher Larry Flynt owns the casino property and building. His attorney, Alan Isaacman, is the business owner. He said there will be nothing suggestive about the casino except the name.
