Florida City Bans Alcohol at Strip Clubs

Despite the fact it has no strip clubs, the city has banned alcohol from such businesses here under a new measure.

Miramar City Commissioner Troy Samuels said last week that he does not support adult businesses and that the city would prefer to attract more retail businesses and more residential development, the Miami Herald reported.

Under the measure, which must pass a second reading on Nov. 29 to become law, adult businesses must be at least 1,500 feet from parks, schools homes and other public facilities. They also must apply for a special license from the city and exotic dancers must also remain four feet away from patrons while performing.
