FlashCashers Lend Hand to Upcoming Masturbation Contest

Tassy Pink and Halcyon Lujah, the folks behind affiliate program FlaschCash.com and alternative sexuality site Pinkgasm.com, have teamed up with the Center for Sex and Culture to, er, lend a hand to a worthy cause: masturbation sponsorship.

The pink-haired pair will sponsor the upcoming Masturbate-A-Thon, a national event held each year, by participating in the event via webcam and integrating the footage with the live feed of the San Francisco-based event taking place on Saturday. The footage will be offered from the Pinkgasm.com Web site.

According to Lujah, the project is a way to spread positive sex attitudes while raising money for the Center, and was inspired a trip to last year’s Masturbate-A-Thon. “Last year I attended the live event in San Francisco and it was fantastic!” he says. “So this year, we wanted to spread that vibe from Southern California, too!

“Tassy and I wanted to use our exhibitionist powers for good,” he continues, “so we spoke with the Center for Sex and Culture about hosting a satellite event in San Diego.” Those who pledge Lujah and Pink will be eligible to win memberships to FlashCash, as well as sex toys from Tantus Silicone.

“As pornographers, we view masturbation as a sacred part of any adult’s life,” Lujah goes on to say. “And since FlashCash sites are part of so many people’s masturbation habits, it made sense for FlashCash to sponsor our version of the premier pro-masturbation event of the year.”

The Masturbate-A-Thon was established in 2005 by the Center of Sex and Culture as part of festivities planned to celebrate National Masturbation Month (May), which was itself created in 1995 in response to then-Surgeon General Joycelyn Elders’ firing for suggesting that masturbation should be taught to children as a viable safe-sex option. National Masturbation Month is funded by San Francisco-based, women-and-worker-owned sex toy company Good Vibrations.

The event is held privately in San Francisco, though for the first time in the contest’s four-year history, spectators will be allowed to watch the festivities on the Exhibitionist’s Stage. Other participants can choose between private single-sex spaces or mixed-gender spaces, with only one portion of the room set aside for webcams.

Events will be taking place across the country (one, in Oregon, will be hosted by AVN contributor Dark Lady). The FlashCash-sponsored San Diego event marks the first appearance of the event in Southern California. According to Pink, “I think it’s important to embrace masturbation,” she says, “not as something that we do as a last resort because we may not have a partner, but because we love our self.

“Sponsoring the Masturbate-A-Thon and sharing my own masturbation is leading by example, in my book,” she adds. “How can I tell people it’s OK to masturbate, when they don’t see me doing it myself?”

FlashCash is encouraging people to participate via webcam at home. Pledge forms are available for downloading at the Masturbate-A-Thon.com Web site.
