FSC Announces Letter-Writing Campaign in Opposition to Dot-xxx TLD

The Free Speech Coalition is commencing a letter-writing campaign in opposition to the creation of a dot-xxx top-level domain. A prewritten letter is available on the Free Speech Coalition website, at Freespeechcoalition.com/xinfo.htm, where one can go to fill in a few fields of information and send the letter off, make changes to the letter, or write a completely new one.

Letters will be emailed to the Free Speech Coalition, where they will be gathered and presented to ICANN later this month.

The Free Speech Coalition has already contacted ICANN officials on several occasions over the past weeks and months, to express their opposition to the creation of dot-xxx itself and to restate concerns regarding the legitimacy of the application submitted to ICANN by ICM Registry to create and run dot-xxx. The organization says it will continue to press the case up to and after the upcoming September 15 ICANN meeting, when the issue of the approval of dot-xxx is scheduled to be revisited.

Anyone who has already signed up at Fightthedotxxx.com does not need to duplicate the effort with the Free Speech Coalition. However, those yet to register an opinion can do so with the FSC..
