FIRST KNOWN HACK OF MICROSOFT WEB PAGE

First, Howard Stern's 21-year marriage becomes a separation - now, the first known and verified hack of a Microsoft Web page has been reported. Tomorrow - hell freezes over.

MSNBC is reporting a lovesick computer hacker, who has also hit a number of government Web sites, nailed Microsoft's Conference Management Server homepage Monday. On Tuesday morning, the page was replaced with a message MSNBC calls part love letter, part threat.

"flipz was here and fObic, your seksi (sic) voice helped me through the night," said the note, before it showed a threat against Microsoft chief Bill Gates.

Attrition.org, which monitors Web site defacement, has confirmed this is the first verifiable hack of any Microsoft Web page. And the hack may have fanned out - MSNBC says at least six Microsoft-registered sites weren't functioning.

"flipz's" previous targets included the Web sites of several government agencies, including the Riverside Police Department in southern California. He's left notes in the past suggesting he's in love with a fellow computer hacker, fObic, who's said to be a member of a group which took revenge on hacker Chad Davis's arrest by vandalizing several Web sites.

Attrition.org says flipz expects to be arrested shortly "but he's going to have some fun while he's waiting."
