Veteran adult film director F. J. Lincoln is going to shock some folks with the new feature he’s shooting for controversial Extreme Associates owner Rob Black, to be released on the Evolution Erotica label.
Return to Insanity, written by longtime Lincoln collaborator Patti Rhodes and starring Extreme contract girls Gia Paloma and Paris Gables, represents a departure from the cable-oriented material Lincoln was known for during his nine-year run as a non-exclusive director with VCA Pictures.
“This is the kind of stuff that F. J. Lincoln has not been able to do in years,” Black told AVN.com. “It’s very edgy and envelope-pushing. We’re very excited to see what the response will be.”
“It’s pretty far out, this movie,” Lincoln told AVN.com. “It starts out with a bag lady [played by Gables, pictured with Lincoln] who releases four female prisoners after she kills the guard that’s watching them. Then we see what happens to the prisoners after they escape.” He said it contains “rough sex but not brutal sex.”
Black feels that Lincoln has been unfairly typed as an “old fuck” director who turns out “soft cable shit.” But now, he said, “We’re turning him loose. This is a re-inventing of Freddy Lincoln. We’re letting him go fuckin’ crazy. It’s definitely out there.”
And Insanity is just the start. “He’ll be doing a lot of stuff for Evolution Erotica. One a month,” Black promised.
Black himself is shooting Behind the Scenes footage for the Insanity DVD. Shooting wraps this week and he has set the release date for January 30, preceded by promotion at the AVN Adult Expo.
Lincoln, whose online directorial credits run to some 13 pages, has directed pictures for every feature-oriented company. But he is also a favorite of horror-movie cult fans as Fred Lincoln, the star of the 1972 Wes Craven classic Last House on the Left.
After being introduced to Black by Chuck Zane, a poker pal who handles Extreme’s foreign sales, he found out that Black’s wife, Lizzy Borden “is a big fan of mine from Last House on the Left. Tom Byron had mentioned to Rob that even though I did all those vanilla type things for different companies, I also did Bizarre Video stuff.”
Lincoln is pleased with every aspect of his new gig, especially the talent he’s working with. “Gia and Paris—these girls are so fuckin’ hot, they just love what they do. That’s what we’re looking for, that’s a porno star, not somebody with fake tits who can ‘ooh’ and ‘ahh.’ Ariana Jollee, she’s another one. That’s what Serena was, Vanessa Del Rio.”
Also featured in Insanity is newcomer Georgia, described by Black as a “fuck machine” with a talent for squirting.
The director is happy to be working for a company where, content-wise, just about anything goes and he can shoot without self-imposed restrictions. It’s just like the old days, he said. “When we made 35mm there was no self-censorship, we made movies.”
Extreme, he added, is “a good company, good people.” As for the much-maligned Black, “He’s really a nice guy—and I hope I’m not ruining his reputation by saying that.”
