CHATSWORTH, Calif. - Extreme Associates has announced a partnership with HotMovies.com in which the adult video-on-demand company will exclusively distribute all future Extreme 2.0 content online.
“With this agreement, Extreme Associates will no longer be making DVDs,” company owner Rob Black explained to AVN. “The only way people will be able to get future Extreme releases on DVD is through HotMovies’ burn to own program. We’re the first major studio to do this…and we’re basically starting over again, but this time, we’re starting where the future is.
“It’s something I’m really excited about, and I think we were in a position to make this move because of all of the rights that the court has stripped from us," Black continued. "There are some distributors out there who are afraid to carry our stuff. But now we’re eliminating all of those steps and bringing the content directly to the consumers. In this day and age, it’s really hard to make a movie [on DVD] and earn a profit from it.”
Black said he plans to release one episode every two weeks at the outset, ramping up to weekly releases in a short time. The new titles will be available for premium priced pay-per-minute streaming and as timed internet downloads. The titles will also be made available for DVD burners through HotMovies’ Download 2 Own program. Outtakes and other exclusive new scenes will also be available for purchase at www.Clips.com.
According to Black, Extreme's new VOD-only “mini-features” will run 90 minutes or less, and will include such series as My Mom's a Porn Star, Spoon Fed Cum, Forced Entry, and 1001 Ways to Eat My Jizz.
“We are still working on ideas,” said Black. “The key is that with HotMovies as my sole distributor, I can focus on what really matters to me, which is producing the hottest, nastiest smut around. I won’t have to worry about DVD replication or distribution at all and I can shoot in a much more cost-effective manner for the internet.”
The launch of Extreme's first VOD exclusive movie, This Is Extreme, is scheduled for Oct. 1. "The title is a group of scenes that we shot from the lines that are going to be going up," explained Black. "We shot a MILF scene for My Moms a Porn Star, a five-guy on girl blow bang scenes for 5 In the Mouth, a girl eating spoonfuls of cum for that line. So basically, its a little taste of what the people will be getting exclusively from us and HotMovies. These are all brand new scenes and there will be a surprise in this movie also that’s pretty big."
All the new movies will be featured only on HotMovies and affiliate sites such as www.ExtremeVOD.com. As part of the arrangement, Black has also agreed to scrap his current in-house VOD site in favor of promoting the HotMovies-run, www.ExtremeVOD.com site through his other internet properties and mail-order business.

We think we will see good traffic and we once again have the pleasure of providing our fan base with the best exclusive VOD content anywhere. We know Rob will enjoy working with our team, the ease of using our system and the monetization of the internet that only HotMovies can deliver.”
“We wanted to do something new,” continued Black. “VOD is definitely the future and with the cost of producing DVDs in a dying market, we wanted to see if we could be the first to explore the new frontier in a way that works for the traditional adult producer.
“People always say that the first company in a certain field becomes the leader in that field. And we’re not going to do some fake shit like some of these other companies that release a title and make it available on VOD, only for four weeks. We’re doing this one hundred percent. The only place you’ll be able to get our stuff is through HotMovies.”
