Extreme Collaborates on New Publication

Extreme Associates announced today that it is partnering with underground publisher Shane Bugbee to create The Extreme Times. The new publishing venture looks to touch on the adult industry, extreme art, music and entertainment.

The Extreme Times will basically have everything,” Extreme Associates owner Rob Black told AVN.com, “with a focus on Extreme and all the wacky bullshit that goes on with us.

“This is just another step for us to expand, and get back out into the world, as well as get back to basics,” continued Black.

Bugbee, a First Amendment activist for over two decades, said he jumped at the opportunity to work with Extreme Associates, especially he said “because the company's owners Rob Black and Lizzy Borden are facing 10 charges of obscenity for their films.”

"This publication will be a voice for the extreme side of art, for those that are and will be unjustly persecuted by both the Left and the Right," said Bugbee.

Bugbee said he has fought censorship since he was a teenager, working with censored, convicted, and jailed artists such as punk rocker Jello Biafra, cartoonist Mike Diana, filmmaker Ryen McPherson, and author Jim Goad.

Bugbee, who hosts a syndicated radio show, was recently featured in the book “Art That Kills: Aesthetic Terrorism 1984-2000,” published by Creation Books.

Black explained that the first issue of The Extreme Times will be ready in Dec., but will likely premiere at the AEE in Las Vegas in January. The group said that they plan to release it nationwide at 4 to 6 times each year via events, tattoo shops, independent music and book stores, and wherever Extreme Associates films are available.
