CHATSWORTH, Calif.—As is fitting for a fairy tale (especially a hardcore version), there’s a happy ending to the saga of Beauty and the Beast XXX. After a couple years in post-production, the X-rated parody is finally making its DVD debut.
Director Harry Sparks began working on his opus back in 2014, with Dani Daniels as the titular beauty and Xander Corvus as the beast. But given all the special effects involved, it took a lot of work to complete the movie. But at long last it's ready, with distribution handled by Exquisite Films.
“I’m preselling the title now. There is already excitement surrounding this release,” said Exquisite sales manager David Peskin. “Already preorders are coming in. There are some really strong pre-booked numbers. We’re going to begin shipping it on February 29 with a March 7 street date.”
In an interview on the set back in 2014, Sparks told AVN that his screenplay for Beauty and the Beast XXX was based on the original fairy tale. "I'm not going back to Jean Cocteau," Sparks said at the time. "It has elements of that one, but I wanted to go back to the original. Darker than some of the versions since then.”
The movie also stars August Ames as the spiteful witch who casts a spell on the handsome prince (Corvus) and it features Riley Reid, Lea Lexis, Callie Callypso, James Bartholet and Evan Stone.
“We released a sneak peek courtesy of Adult Empire,” Peskin said. “It just went into the official Adult Empire blog and YouTube page. Retailers can get a glimpse of this exciting new fairy tale.”
The DVD release offers a second disc of special features, including a non-sex version of the movie, outtakes, photo galleries and more.
