This interview ran in the August issue of AVN magazine.
After two years in the industry, Brooklyn Chase has some new plans to go with her new boobs.
"I actually shot my first scene two years ago today," Chase tells AVN. "It was a massage scene for an online company. It was interesting. It was oily and gross and I wondered, 'What am I getting myself into?' it was a lot of fun, and my biggest concern was that I couldn't act. The guys there made it so comfortable, there was no way I would have stuck around otherwise."
When asked how she started as a performer, Chase grins and says, "I was bangin' everybody anyway, so I might as well get paid to do it."
More seriously, she continues: "I've always been a sex-on-the-first-date kind of girl. As long as I've been having sex, I've been having a lot of sex. When it came time to get a new job, I thought maybe I could become a stripper. When I found my agency at the time, I thought it sounded too good to be true when I heard about the money I could make and the schedule I could have. I chickened out at first, but I changed my mind and I had so much fun."
The new boob job—changing her superstructure from 32DD to 32G—was restorative: "It's my second boob job, actually. I had one 10 years ago. A lot of people thought they were natural, but I didn't like the way they laid when I was in certain positions. I was self-conscious. Everything's good now. I'm healing still. I was terribly bruised. I've always done big-bust stuff, so there was already an emphasis on my chest. Coming back, I wanted to be as healed as I could be. I just started shooting this week. Did four scenes."
When asked about her strengths as a performer, she smiles and says, "I've been told I give a pretty good blowjob. My fans love my interracial work. I have a really big interracial following, which is great, because I love doing interracial work. That's what I hear the most and that's what they want to see more of. I started doing interracial work with Mandingo. Go big or go home," she adds with a laugh. "I lost some fans from [doing interracial], but I think the fans that I gained far outweigh the amount that I lost.
"I've been really proud of the acting stuff that I've gotten to do. Not that I'm an actress, by any means, but I have a lot of fun. When there's a script or lines to memorize, I get really excited. I recently did Odd Jobs for Wicked, where I was kind of the lead. There's a film called Sweetness and Light for Skow for Girlfriends Films that I got to do some acting in. I had a lot of fun with that. I got to play the angry, very mean girl. You get in someone's face and scream and smack people. I don't know where it comes from. When I'm done I think, 'What have I just done? I'm sorry!'"
She's getting used to making personal appearances, including the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo and, most recently, Exxxotica Chicago. "I didn't go to Adult Expo initially because I didn't feel I was cool enough. I didn't think anybody would care that I was there. I went this past year, signing for three different companies. I went from one to the next to the next. I could not believe how tired I was, standing and schmoozing and signing my name. I was exhausted. I had to figure out a way to smile that doesn't make my face hurt."
Among the DVDs she’ll be able to sign for fans now is a new seven-scene compilation from New Sensations. Titled The Sexual Desires of Brooklyn Chase, it features Chase with co-stars including Steven St. Croix, Ramon Nomar, Mr. Pete and Bruce Venture. She is featured in Dreamzone Entertainment's The Housewives of Lex Steele 2, which came out July 20. She also has pictorial features in Cheri magazine and in Club magazine in the U.K. and the U.S.
Chase told AVN that her upcoming plans include starting her own website. "I'm two years in the business today; I'm about 500 people shy of 100,000 followers on Twitter. I've had a really good two years so far and a really good last year. I've missed shooting—I was out two-and-a-half months," Chase says. "Coming in, I thought I would do this for a couple of years and then go to nursing school—I think every porn star plans to go to nursing school—and I guess I didn't realize that getting a job afterward would be difficult. I'm okay with it, but I realize that this industry is it for me. Whether I'm in front of the camera or behind the camera, maybe I'll have my own agency or be as cool as Lisa Ann and have a production company and only shoot my own stuff, but I know that this industry is where I'm going to be. And that makes me happy."
