BERLIN - Adult producers, manufacturers, directors and stars from around the world were honored Sunday at the 2008 eLINE Awards, capping the 12th annual Venus Berlin trade show.
Organized by the B2B magazine MEDIENeLINE, the prestigious awards gala featured 76 categories recognizing outstanding achievement in the adult video, retail, novelty and internet industries.
Stateside winners in the individual film and video categories included Vivid (Best US Film for Paul Thomas' Cry Wolf), Adam & Eve and Zero Tolerance (Best Feature USA for Roller Dollz), and Digital Playground (Film With Highest Potential for Pirates II).
It was a big year for Euro-porn studio Marc Dorcel, as the expensive feature Casino: No Limit won the awards for Best European Film and Best Big-Budget Movie. Casino director Herve Bodilis was named Best European Director, Marc Dorcel contract girl Yasmine won Best European Actress, and Dorcel won a special trophy for Outstanding Achievements.
Hustler scored three awards: Barely Legal won Best US series, Hustler Europe was recognized for its outstanding marketing efforts, and Theresa Flynt was named Business Woman of the Year.
Jules Jordan Video won Best Gonzo Label, and the JJV-distributed Cruel Media was named Best International Newcomer Label. Daring Media was named Label of the Year, and Seattle-based HellHouse Media won Best US Fetish Label.
Digital Playground contract star Jesse Jane won Best US Actress, and new Digital Playground girl Stoya was named Best US Newcomer. The studio's contract director Robby D. won Best US Director.
Wicked Pictures contract star Jessica Drake won an award for Outstanding Achievements, and Wicked contract director/performer Randy Spears was named Best International Actor.
In the novelty categories, Tera Patrick scored a coup for her Mistress Couture lingerie line, taking home the award for Best Lingerie Label. "Mistress Couture is a real part of our future," proud husband and Teravision CEO Evan Seinfeld told AVN. "I mean, no one can download lingerie from a tube site."
