LOS ANGELES—When the Best in Sex: 2016 AVN Awards Show, hosted this year by comedian Kate Quigley and adult superstars Joanna Angel and Anikka Albrite, airs on premium cable television this week, what you will see on the small screen is not exactly what transpired on stage in Las Vegas. Cable viewers get both more and less than the live audience. Viewers at home see many extras—interviews and backstage footage—but they also miss some of the action on stage.
The good news is that a few moments of choice material that will not appear on cable can be seen by all on the mainstream comedy show FunnyOrDie.com, promoting the hard work and efforts of the co-hosts.
FunnyOrDie.com has posted a segment that begins when co-hosts Angel and Albrite announce that the envelopes containing the names of the winners have been held up at the airport. Cut to the runway, where Colette/X-art director Colette Field and a band of beauties—Adria Rae, Alex Grey, Piper Perri, Jenna J. Ross, Jillian Jansen and Elsa Jean—are throwing an impromptu rave in the X-art jet. Playing an AVN reporter, Franziska Facella, breaks up the party, sending Rae and Grey off to deliver the goods.
What to do to kill a few minutes? Albrite suggests a little musical interlude, so the two hosts sing, backed by dancers from Larry Flynt’s Hustler Club. Think of it like bonus material on a porn DVD.
Titled "That's What Porn is All About," the song just might be too hot for premium cable. You be the judge. Check it out on FunnyOrDie.com. And see the rest of the Best in Sex: 2016 AVN Awards Show on Friday, June 24 at 11 p.m. ET (check TV listings for local times).
Known as "the Oscars of porn," the annual AVN Awards Show is the premier gala of adult entertainment and recognizes titles, individuals, and companies for contributions to and excellence in the industry.
