Everhard Signs with Evil Angel

Erik Everhard has signed an exclusive agreement to direct for Evil Angel Productions.

Everhard, who produces movies through his company Erik Everhard Entertainment, most recently was an exclusive performer/director for Red Light District Video. With his new agreement, Everhard will direct solely for Evil Angel, but is free to perform in any productions he desires.

“It just means I reached the top,” said Everhard, who has been in adult for over seven years. “Evil Angel is the pinnacle of what it’s all about, so to be offered the opportunity, it’s amazing, mind-blowing. To be ranked up there with other performers like Rocco [Siffredi] and Nacho [Vidal] and the other directors like Jules [Jordan] and John Leslie, it’s pretty incredible.”

“We’ve been friends and admirers of Erik for a long time,” Evil Angel’s Tricia Devereaux told AVN.com Monday. “When he was leaving Anabolic, we spoke to him then, but it wasn’t the right time to bring him on as a director. We stayed in touch this whole time and recently he came and asked {Evil Angel owner] John [Stagliano], ‘What have you been thinking about my movies lately?’ John realized on a lot of levels that they agree with how to present the scenes, and how to present the talent. There really weren’t any reasons to not take him on any more.”

Devereaux continued, “We love him. He’s a really sweet person. He comes off as fucking so hard [in his scenes], but he’s really nice, and thoughtful of the talent. And he’s so quiet that you don’t really get to know him.”

Everhard has been an exclusive director/performer for Red Light District over two years, coming into his own with a distinct, hardcore gonzo style. Prior to that he released titles through Anabolic and Diabolic Video for about two years.

“In retrospect, I don’t feel that my movies were at that level when I left Anabolic,” Everhard said. “Everything develops over time. Part of the game is you consistently get better. You age like fine wine, so to speak, and I think I reached that point.”

The 28-year-old native of Calgary, Alberta, says he values his time at Red Light and leaving for the Evil Empire was merely a business decision.

“Me and [Red Light owner] David Joseph have always had a great relationship and always will,” Everhard said. “This was simply a business move, and not a reflection of me being unhappy with the company. They treated me exceptionally well. But this was an opportunity that came along that was way too good to say no to.”

Everhard continued, “[At Red Light] I had the ability to shoot whatever I wanted how I wanted with no restraints from any company owners or anything. It was a true freedom to design the box, and push the envelope, so to speak, in whichever direction I chose. I’ve always been known as one of the further outside directors at Red Light. Me and Mike John were always sort of the edgiest over there. I distributed 23 or 24 titles there. And I did 12 or 13 through Anabolic and Diabolic.”

Red Light District's Joseph told AVN.com that other companies pursue the directors in his arsenal all the time, which is something he understands. But when Everhard approached him about this opportunity, he gave it his blessing.

“I told him basically that if it was any other company, I would have argued and fought with him and told him he was a fool, but since it’s Evil Angel, I think they’re the best company out there in my opinion and I wish him the best," Joseph said. "I know a lot of people compare Red Light and Evil Angel, and I’m flattered by that, but they are a great company.”

Joseph continued, “I really hope the grass is greener on the other side. Erik’s a great guy and I hope it works out. I was very happy with Erik and he was happy with us. We wish him the best and we’re glad that if he was going to go anywhere, that it’s Evil Angel. They are great people. We’ll move on and move forward.”

Everhard said he would continue to perform regularly since he believes that he’s at the top of his game in that regard.

“For now, I’m going to hit the circuit and do some performing. And naturally, as things evolve with Evil Angel, I will be slowing down,” Everhard said. “In the end, you do want some of the best stuff that you are doing to come out through your own label. When the timing is appropriate, I’ll of course be slowing down, and at that time more than likely, I’ll just be performing for Evil Angel.”

Devereaux indicated that Evil Angel plans to release Everhard’s first video in early February, though trailers from his shows will be available by the time of the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo in January. She said he does have some scenes already shot that simply haven’t been released yet.

“His lighting and camerawork are really solid,” Devereaux said. “There really won’t be a large difference in his productions. John made the decision because he already felt he was solid as a director.”

Everhard, one of adult’s leading gonzo performers for the past several years, lately has done much of his work in Prague, Czech Republic, and loves shooting in Eastern Europe.

"I’m the Eastern European traveler," Everhard admitted. "People can always expect an Eastern European influence in my movies. I'm going to be looking at newer territories, and expand into Ukraine and Russia if I can, and see what supermodels I can drag in front of the camera."

Among Everhard’s popular lines for Red Light District were Outnumbered, Sport Fucking, Ass Obsessed, Anal POV, Jailbait, Cum in My Ass, Not in my Mouth, Anal Cavity Search and Cum Filled Asshole Overload.

"I will be continuing some of the lines I already have and at the same time I’ll be developing new ones," Everhard revealed. "I'll be picking and choosing. I always have a few ideas up my sleeve, so there will be definitely be some spicy stuff coming out for sure."

Everhard joins an Evil Angel stable that already includes heavyweight directors such as Jules Jordan, Rocco Siffredi, John Leslie, Joey Silvera, Christoph Clark, Nacho Vidal, Jonni Darkko, Justin Slayer, Belladonna and Stanley Miranda.

“We’re really pleased that the producers and directors that we distribute are so happy that they don’t really even think about why they would want to leave,” Devereaux said.

“Erik pays a lot of attention to beginning of the scenes and the intros and he does really great sex and we encourage that, so we’re so happy with his creativity. Erik is definitely going to fit in here.”

Stagliano was traveling at press time and unavailable for comment.
