Everhard Files Lawsuit Against Red Light District

On January 3, director Erik Everhard and his production company Erik Everhard Entertainment Inc. filed a complaint against Red Light District Inc. and its owner David Joseph, in Los Angeles Superior Court-North Valley District.

Confirmed to AVN.com by Everhard himself, Erik Everhard Entertainment is claiming breach of contract, conversion, claim and delivery, accounting and unfair competition.

The Complaint seeks unspecified damages and injunctive relief.

In response, Red Light District President David Joseph told AVN.com that he and Red Light District gave Everhard “an extraordinary deal. We lent [Everhard] monies in large sums to finance [his] motion picture productions.”

Joseph went on to say that “because of the nature of our industry, the producers know this business is all about keeping your word. In sum, it’s about integrity. As to [Everhard’s] lawsuit, his claims are completely baseless.”

Everhard, who became an exclusive director for Evil Angel prior to the 2006 AVN Adult Entertainment Expo, and Erik Everhard Entertainment Inc. will now be distributing their titles through Evil Angel.

He was an exclusive director/performer for Red Light District for over two years, releasing over 20 titles with the company.
