Erotic Heritage Museum Celebrates 2-Year Anniversary

LAS VEGAS—The Erotic Heritage Museum celebrates its two-year anniversary with a fundraising exhibition on Saturday titled “Hung in Vegas.” A bevy of celebrated artists’ and photographers’ work will be on display and for sale.

Artists Nick Karras, Michael Grecco, Steve Diet Goedde, Diane Bush, Michael Muller, Todd VonBastiaans, Max Lightbender, KD Matheson and Princess Anne all will exhibit their work at the museum. Additional artists will be a part of the exhibit throughout the year, making “Hung in Vegas” a year-round attraction.

Proceeds from the sale of artwork will go to benefit the Erotic Heritage Museum’s mission to support sex education through the arts.

The evening’s celebrations includes the opening of the Fithian Hartman Library, an academic research library dedicated to the field of human sexuality.

Guests will be able to experience interactive exhibitions such as “Faces of Courage,” sponsored by Aid for Aids in Nevada, an exhibition wherein plaster face casts reflect the experiences of people living with HIV for more than 15 years.

Visitors can indulge in the retrospective, “The History of Prostitution,” an ongoing exhibition sponsored by Desiree Alliance, an advocacy group protecting the rights of sex workers.

Additionally, Planned Parenthood is sponsoring an exhibition titled “Creative Contraception.” The museum collaborates with many nonprofit organizations to promote sexual rights as human rights.

In addition to the displays of erotic artwork, Nina Hartley—classic adult film star turned sex educator and advocate—will receive an honorary doctorate degree from the Institute for Advanced Study of Human Sexuality; Insurgo Theater Movement will present an interpretation of Salome; and The Sin Sity Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence will host the evening’s events.

Organizers request that attendees “dress to thrill and express your sexuality.”

The Erotic Heritage Museum is located at 3275 Industrial Road in Las Vegas. Tickets are $25 at the door and $20 in advance, via SinSitySisters.org.
